    Lizardmen Friendly Army - 2400 pts

    This is going to be my first lizardmen army (first warhammer army too).

    This list is only partly complete, pretty unsure what to add into it.

    Lords:

    Slann Mage Priest 455 pts

    -BSB Lichebone Pennant

    -Dispel Scroll

    -Channeling Staff

    Discplines:

    -Becalming Cogitation

    -Harmonic Convergence

    -Focus of Mystery

    Heroes:

    Thought of adding 2 scar-veterans, one for each of the saurus units or maybe get a skink priest or chief?

    Core:

    30x Saurus FC (HW/S) (I'm going to remove 1 saurus from the saurus units if I add scar-veterans to the army)

    30x Saurus FC (HW/S)

    10x Skink Skirmishers (Blowpipe or Javelin?)

    10x Skink Skirmishers

    Special:

    26x Temple Guard FC - (Slann goes in here)

    Rare:

    1 Salamander Pack (Been hearing that these guys are a must!)

    1 Salamander Pack



    Total so far is 1869 pts

    The things I'm thinking of adding to my list:

    -Stegadons (Saw a battle report on youtube where the stegadon really held his ground)

    -Ripperdactyls or terradons (For artillery hunting?)

    -Unit of 5 Chameleon skinks (Supposed to be very cost effective)

    -Bastilladon (Been seeing random posts where people say he isn't useful in a army with a slann, as the slann needs the power dice to himself)

    -Heroes

    Okay went down to my local GW store where I got help help setting up a army. Posting it here in case other newbies like myself have trouble making a army.

    Slann Mage Priest

    - Beclaming Cogitation

    I would say the priest on the steg is silly, you want it in combat and people can single out the priest. You can have the engine of the gods on a rare steg. I would go camo skinks and ignore the flying critters. I would also recommend the razor banner on the temple guard. Give the skink priest lore of beast and keep him with in 6" of temple guard and saurus so they don't have to chase. Give lore of light a try on the slann as well its top notch. Any spare points from this can go on some scar vets with light armour and great weapons.

    That looks nasty now, I don't think my Orcs or WoC would do too well vs them. Just remember you need to choose your magic lores on the list, but lore of beast will do well on the Skink. For a nice battle line formation I would go temple guard about 4 inch away from the saurus with the ancient steg in the middle of them, skinks on the flanks with camo skinks scouting as close as you can to things like war machines and lone wizards, keep the skink priest behind the ancient steg for buffs and keeping the saurus in order, I would then place the other steg on the flank he is most needed. Don't bother with shooting the giant bow too much, this guy needs to charge. I would also pop the sallys on flanks just behind the skirmishers but closer to the main line. Last point would be the lore choice for the slaan would be Light or life. Hope this helps.

    I'm probaly going to use Life on my slann (But probaly will try Light too, just to see which fits my playstyle best). I will most likely use beast on my skink as I like the signature spell. Yes thanks this has helped alot Also found out this army will be about 50 quid cheaper than the orginial one.

    I was wondering about one more thing btw, do you think it would be better to make my scar-veteran BSB? Then I could give the saurus banner of flaming attacks or some other magic banner.

    No not at all. The BSB can not have a magic banner and magic items but the Slaan can.
