Well not to ong ago my brother had told me of him seeing a player who used an army composed entirley of Grots/Gretchin and the guy called it a Rebel Grot army so i was just wondering if anyone knew about them?

Grots don't rebel. If you read the fluff, they exist to be slaves.

All I would like to say is that a Rebel Grot Army wouldn't exist, because they exist to serve their larger cousins.

That's not entirely true.

Apparently, the Grots made the Orks. Something along the lines of protecting them and fighting for their Grot 'Overlords'.

Although it was just a little story, it seems to have a speck of truth. It could definately be true.

After all, it makes sense.

Yes, there's a rebel grot army, the fluff is iirc that the grots had some treatment that made them alot like orks when it comes to size etc (he had a lot of conversions where he had put grot heads on ork bodies).
There's some pictures of the army in the UKWD 251.

I thought the orks were the krork that the old ones made
Yes, the old ones were afraid of the necrons, so they created orks to combat them. Then, they went into hiding for thousands of years until the threat had been dealt with and it was safe for them to rise up again.

So imagine you're an old one, planning to go into hiding. What species should you disguise yourself as? You need to be safe, so choose a species which is allied with a powerful anti-c'tan force, like the orks you just created. You need to make sure your species won't be destroyed by the necrons. You need to make sure you can sustain your numbers easily- so choose something which breeds a lot. You don't want to be wiped out, so it's best to hide as something small and hard to hit- also, not too powerful, otherwise other races might focus on taking you down. You need to be something noone will ever suspect, lest the c'tan send necrons to wipe you out.

So, what could you choose? What on earth could be a small, inconspicuous, fast-breeding creature which is close to an anti-necron species, and nobody in their right mind would ever expect to be the old ones?

Heyy!

At least, that's how the rumour goes.

As far as grots... i'm remembering some fluff from GW a while ago (i've been playing since i was 12 in the 80's) and something about grots/goblins used to be immense psychers who led the orc by eating mushrooms and certain kinds of fungus. The orks found this fungus, which gave psychic powers, very tasty and ate it all resulting in the grots losing their ability to control the orks. As a result the Orks forced the grots into submission.

I remember this, but have no idea of the source...

There are all sorts of theories and fluff sources all over the place about what the orks and old ones are.

Some say that orks are the krork, created by the old ones to combat the threat of the c'tan and their metallic legions.

Some say that ancient wierdboys were the old ones.

Some say that snotlings are the old ones, and are hiding where nobody would find them- in plain sight.

Hell, some say that the first generation Slann were the old ones.

All that can be said for certain, is WAAAAGGHH!!

this morning I thought how cool it wwould be to have an all grot army... my friends laughed, then I came to the ork thread and lo and behold it is possible! I think it would be asweome just for ****s and giggles alone XD

Its not something to laugh about. I have 210 Grots. No and again I play these grots to irritate marine and chaos players.

I use my Orks as elites, SB and HB and with 2 Trukk with boyz.

I have slavers driving the grots. Its not a winning army but you should see marine players complain when you one grot squad kills 3 marines a turn. Yes and they then complain about it has no fluff.

But Fluff can be created.
