I'm looking at modelling Games Workshop dreadnoughts with Forge World dreadnoughts.
Can anyone let me know if the arms can be swapped between the two types? e.g. MKV dread (GW) with FW Multi-melta or Ironclad dread (FW) with GW close combat arm?
I'm planning on using magnets to give me plenty...
After building a Black Templar Space Marine Costume and then a Blood Raven Model - I have embarked on a new project to build a lifesize Ultramarine Dreadnought. If you are interested in my progress you can follow it here:

first time posting a list here i am just looking for some constructive criticism on my 2500 points list
and if you like the list let me know some good tactics for the army
i wanted to make a all comers list that was scary on all fronts
As some of you are aware the new blood angels models have hit the shelves of the GW web site and oh my have i got mixed feelings!
Let start with the Great: New furioso dreadnought, so many nice new components for kit bashing here, and with its general good looks a must to get for any BA army...
ok, before i say anything, i have read the rulebook, but am still unsure of the way this works. im sure that you have had this question asked many times but..
basically, i would like to know, if a walker is immobolised in cc, can i then strike at its rear armour? or do i still hit its front...
so i read an earlier post about this but it didnt seem to have been concluded. Can an immobilized Walker still pivot its body in order to shoot? in the core rules it does say that walkers can pivot during the shooting phase which counts as not moving. but it also says in the immobilized section...
(I did my search, and although there are threads talking about Dreads in general, and in relation to a specific list, there is not one, general discussion like that – or I did not find it).
Mortis Dreadnought. It used to be only for the Forgeworld aficionados, the resin-crack lovers. But now...
This is going to seem very generic, but I am building a drop pod army. My past drop pod army was a bit of an all-or nothing sort of deal, so I'm giving it another, more balanced go. From my past research, I have seen people field mainly dreadnoughts, for their close combat prowness or...
I have a Dreadnought from 4th Ed with A.C. and CCW w. Stm Bltr.
Was considering getting another one with a different loadout, just wanted to judge peoples favourite weapon loadouts.
Any comments on why you prefer different roles for Dreadnought much appreciated.
I use mine as advancing...
Whos better furioso or ironclad? I was arguing with my friend whos better over all and points cost.
I reckon the furioso wins hands down with venerable and death company upgrades i mean a possibly 7 attacks on a charge is major league. And the good old re rolls on pens and glancing hits, the...
I've recently returned to space marines, after sampling a few other races, and I have settled on the Salamanders chapter. With the recent release of the Planetstrike rules i've decided that having Furioso and Mortis dreadnoughts will be an advantage under various circumstances. Having bought...
My first post here on the forums. :)
I am considering running a long ranged weapon Dreadnought next to a ThunderCannon. The hope is that the techmarine working the cannon can roll to repair the Dread vehicle if it becomes damaged.
Is this possible?
Since the ThunderCannon does...
Poll will be open for 2 weeks, I want o encourage discussion, so please take the time to vote and post.
Anyways onto the question!
What do you guys use to represent Dreadnought Drop Pods?
There are a few basic options;
A] GW's Drop Pod
Reasoning - Its the only one GW provides, so use it...

This one occurred to me whilst thinking about the nice new Ironclads and how they could be used to the best cinematic style. Feedback welcome (apologies for the long fluff but I was on a roll)!

Charged with the extermination of a the Tyranid forces occupying the hollow remnant of a world on the eastern fringe which had once housed a large mining colony, the Ultramarines of the 9th Company were presented with a unique problem: The massive caverns in the husk of the planet proved to be...
I've just recieved the AoBR dreadnought and have spent the weekend making stuff to convert him to a venerable. I've done some of the converting and ideas are much appricieated. C&C is welcome.
