I am trying to write a competitive list that sticks to the fluff.tell me what you would change.
Was reading throught the Space wolf codex the other day, my mate was doing a drop pod list, and noticed that the details for the drop pods says that it reduces the scattering distance if it (A) Scattered onto impassable terrain, (B) if it landed ontop of another model/unit friendly or enemy...
Quick question: If I deploy a drop pod with a Locator Beacon equipped do I have to declare this to my opponent before any of my reserve units use it to arrive via deep strike?
Obviously I'd rather not make this known once the drop pod has landed. It would be seen as more of threat and more...
Hi this im kinda new to the forum and i want to get into black templars, as i would prefer not to jump on the blood angel bandwagon a.k.a. Baal Predator :) so i came up with a 1500 point list that is fun and has a great fluff behind it but im not to sure it will be very competetive so please...
This is a strike force designed to bludgeon any static army into rapid submission, can also respond very quickly to threats presented by a mobile enemy.
Vulkan He'stan - 190
Terminator chaplain - 130
5 terminators w/heavy flamer - 205
6 assault terminators - 240
I'm new to space marines, and not entirely sure how this list will work out... but I wanted something semi competive, but still fun to play against/play as, which is why I went for a bit more of a mixed feel. Here we go:
Pedro Kantor 175
2x Combi Melta
This is going to seem very generic, but I am building a drop pod army. My past drop pod army was a bit of an all-or nothing sort of deal, so I'm giving it another, more balanced go. From my past research, I have seen people field mainly dreadnoughts, for their close combat prowness or...
Bare with me, I am long time Eldar Veteran, and venturing in to uncharted territroy with 5th edition marines.
Deadnaught +Drop Pod
5 Terminators w/ Assault Cannon
10 Tac Marines w/ Melta, Teleport homer, Drop Pod
10 Tac Marines w/Melta, Drop Pod...
Poll will be open for 2 weeks, I want o encourage discussion, so please take the time to vote and post.
Anyways onto the question!
What do you guys use to represent Dreadnought Drop Pods?
There are a few basic options;
A] GW's Drop Pod
Reasoning - Its the only one GW provides, so use it...
Just want to run a few ideas by you guys:
1. 8 Sternguard with 2 Heavy Flamers 4 Combi-meltas (drop pod)?
2. Command Squad with 4 Plasma Guns/Pistols, 4 Storm Shields (drop pod)?
3. Command Squad with 1 Champion, 2 Flamers, 1 PF, 3 Storm Shields (drop pod)?
4. 8 Vanguards with 4 plasma...
I'm thinking of starting to play w40k. From reading the books and playing related games I think that I would most enjoy spacemarines with drop pods. So I've build something of an army list (still working on the fluff). I've figured that excluding drop pods and paint this should set me...
