After a few years out of the hobby I'm finally getting round to it again, for ages I've wanted to do a Tanith army, full fluff of course!
My initial plan was to just use vet squads, but I feel like challenging myself.
I'm going to re read every book and jot down the names and platoons/squads...
I am making a gaunts ghosts army, and, on account of the lack of 5th ed rules, i am playing it like this:
veteran with medi-pack
veteran with sniper
veteran with regimental standard...
Playing in a local campaign, usually end up playing chaos players but potential for just about every army out there, but its mainly chaos, guard, orks, nids.
I'm playing a themed list with the Tanith 1st and only, so all my guys have camo cloaks and my list is fluff aimed but with effectiveness...
I've won 2 out of 3 games with this list so far (it's changed a bit throughout with me adding or dropping things I did or don't like) and my recent game was a lost to chaos marines, a massacre in killpoints (I won the first game against orks in KP though)

I've already tried this once against an Ork army and I won 9Kp to 6Kp despite the leman russ squadron and the demolisher blowing up first turn. forgot deff koptas could scout. I also had Pask in a standard Leman Russ but I'm going to put him into a Vanquisher now.

Alright with 5th edition guard the Tanith have lost a lot of elements, they're still there but they're very much like they were in His Last Command where Gaunt has no command rank and the regiment is commanded by another person. Also they've lost they're structure, they've always been organized...
