NEVER underestimate a hive tyrant, i will always always take a hive tyrant over a broodlord any day.

Even in 500pts games i am happy to take a tyrant.
They are just simple mean on the battlefield, and a tyrant with wings and 2x scything talons will devastate anything.

Tyrants are amazing for there adaptability.

My opinion extended carapace isnt worth it, for the price of it on alot of your models you can almost double your size of army. Remember tyranids are about overwhelming strength in close combat. and most weapons will eat thru extended carapace anyway.

To be honest i hate warriors. I think they suck so much, but thats me.

--You probably do not need the toxin sacs on the genestealer retinue, as their main role will be to get in their rending attacks. Most of the weaker troops that the strength increase will be useful against can be taken care of by the warriors and hormogaunts. Used this unit to lead your attack and provide synapse for the hormogaunts.

--I would set up your warrior squads as assaulting, shooting or one of each. If you want a shooting oriented squad, I would drop the leaping. With rearguards to the deathspitter, I do not think that they are all that great with newer blast template rules (I know some will disagree). I would replace them with devourers on the squad with a barbed strangler. You could leave them in the squad with VC as do work well against light vehicles that the squad will probably be targeting.

--I would swap the twin-linked deathspitters for either a barbed strangler or twin-linked devourers. Other than that it looks good, use it to take out any heavy tanks.

Hope that helps

Alright, I drop leaping on the warriors, added a BS to the Carnifex, replaced the deathspitters in one of the warrior units with devrourers, and dropped the Toxin Sacs on the stealers. I also added another dozen spinegaunts to the list.
