High Elves 1000 pts

Mage:
Seer Honour, Steed, Jewel of the Dusk, Barding
High Lore: Flames of the Phoenix, Drain Magic
Pts: 157pts

Mage:
Seer Honour, Steed, Dispel Scroll, Barding
Lore of Life: The Rain Lord
Pts: 152pts

Mage:
Seer Honour, Dispel Scroll, Silver Wand
Lore of Heavens: Comet of Casandora, Second Sign of Amul
Pts: 155pts

2x10 Archers:
Pts: 240pts

12 Spearmen:
Pts: 132pts

5 Silver Helms with SBearer:
- Heavy Armour, Lance, Banner of Sourcery
Point Cost: 169pts

Army Cost: 1005 pts

This is of course just a rough draft. Should I get 2x5 Silver Helms in stead of the Spearmen? Should I drop some of the archers and rather get a RBT? I need the three mages, as the game will probably (not certainly) be magic heavy.

Gimme tips people =P . You know I need them.

No one level 2 mage? Not very magic heavy Slai, three mages and only 4 spells between them? Give one of them the silver wand (one with seer) and you get to pick another spell. Are going to be facing lots of missile fire? if not lose the seer on the second mage and give him the other scroll and to that mage give him silver wand and choose Second Sign Of Amul ( the re-rolls will come in handy for miscasts etc). Other than that good, Although if you make the first mage level two you can pick Curse Of Arrow Attraction (good for both archer units)

The mages all have their specific tasks. But I stuck a Silver Wand with the mage on foot, so that he can have Second Sign, and cut pts by taking away the SivlerHelms' shields. Its a good thingie to have =P . Thanks for the tip.

I just dont find the pts to have a lvl2 mage =/ .

In about 2 hours, it will be engaged in combat with the sinister Dark Elves of Naggaroth =P .

Im trying to catch him off guard with this list. I think he is expecting a Lord, 2x8 SH, Spearmen, RBT list that I mostly use. We almost NEVER use magic, but now the tides have changed ;) .

Well you give those Druchii hell, but I must point out the the silver helms can only have a banner worth 25pts not 50pts (so no banner of sorcery) sorry.

that is the most evil magic army i have ever seen, though i would be very worried if anything went wrong in you're magic phase, because after all you have almost no fighting capability in that army

Not as evil as a Skaven army with 3 Engineers, tho...

But I tried this army once. Didnt work out that well for me =P . I wouldnt reccomend it. But it was a one trick pony.

Screw the second unit of archers and take a level 2 mage. Also, mages automatically come w/ Drain magic so don't take it twice. The Last thing, take Urans thunder bolt instead of second sign of amul. It might work but I doubt it, its to small

Why thunder bolt? Its a ranged spell, and thus SSoA is better for a mage that isnt supposed to be in any form of danger at all.

Thunderbolt has no range, so you can put him in the back and pick off people.

Well, obviously, since it is leaning rather towards the magic aspect of the game, I might concider that to be the main thing about the army list. Kill stuff with magic, sweep with SH and SpM. Yes, yes, I know that its unreliable and blah blah blah. Doesnt work at all, etc.

And I know very well that a full cav army would crush any army better than this one could. Repeating myself: this was just for fun, and I thought I'd post it to get some reactions to it. Its not a list I am thinking of taking to a tournament or anything of the sorts.

oh god... uranons thunderbolt has a 24" range now  ?! thats not cool. it drains a lot of power dice but it is excellent for taking out lone heros, with a 24" range it can still be useful but i like so sit my mages behind my lines and zamp stuff and drop commets on them, i guess i can still do the latter. Did they change forked lightning to? secound sign of amul is great too.

I think forked lighting has been changed too, comet has not. These rules were first published in WD265 (UK) i have always used the changed rules since then (Even though they were not official)
