I don't think the Low population is quite right. losing "valuable men" We're talking Guard here, not SM. Anyway, Humans breed like rabbits and if their populaition really is that low, they should be either not be paying their tithes in bodies or they should be tithing considerably less than usual.

well, I find that the doctrine is ok, but a bit underpriced, it's actually kind a hit or miss, that one medic can either save you 36 points or be useless... I would actually make it 7, but that's just me. I do like the idea quite a bit though, and as it's not on guard squads I'm not massively offended.

anyway, on to the army itself, it seems to be somewhat lacking in bodies, especially for a guard list, but you've got enough armor to keep up and the amount of vets can kinda make up for this. Cameleoline is a good choice for the vets, that gives them a nice, reliable save, and the medic even makes them tougher then they should be.

K ill see about makin it 7. ok, so low population is not the best excuse for medics, then maybe a suggestion? I wanna use the medics for my saves for the "gets hot" rule, then i can also use them on my opponents turn, so i think they would make up their points by saving me some plasma gunners.

I was also concerend about the number of bodies. i have no doubt that they will shock my opponents with their plasma fire power, but to me it still seems to little. My anti-troop is reduced to blast markers that allow all saves, 1 HB, and 2 tanks that are primary targets. HBs would be very handy but i dont know what to take out.
Another thing that concerns me is i only have 1 LC in here. *GASP* as i am committing IG heresy, i was wodnering if i could nestle in some of the beasts here and there. so lets see, thats +6 points for the medic rule changes..

In short...my list is very tight on points, and changing things is tricky, for me at least. Im guessing i need to shave off about 20pts for some wiggle room. Help me out.

To get the Medics fluffwise, I'd have your army closely linked to the Sisters of Battle, then you can induct Sister Hospitalers and count them as your medics (Just use the stats of the medics). At least I am assuming that the Sisters Hospitalers are a non military arm of the order. Perhaps talk to a Witch hunter player on this.

I'd drop the sentinel.

For that many points you can buy your 7 pt medics and upgrade every single Rocket Launcher to a Lascannon.

Problem solved I believe. Oh, and as for anti horde, that's what the tanks are there for in Grenadiers.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I took out the sentinel. I kept a few missle launchers for the blast, its handy, since my friends not gonna play BA for a little while. So if you can find a better spot for the points please go ahead.

As for the medic doctrine, i have no idea what to do with it, but i want to keep it. I dont see why the sisters of battle would ally with some forge workers who decided to make a regiment. So I still need an excuse, I was thinking something like they all know each other, so they value each other more...or something like that...::wacko:

Rockets are fairly useless as an anti horde thing, your opponent is highly unlikely to cluster his men together. Expect to hit one or two things at the most. That's why I'd go for the lascannons.

And are you sure there's no way to write the sisters in?

Honestly, it COULD be done, but I dont see why a bunch of fringe world forge wrokers, protecting a deathworld, would have the help of a highly religious regiment, like the sisters.

Are you kidding? This is a planet full of a very powerful material. They're not going to just leave it to the IG to protect. I wouldn't be surpriesed all of the military arms of the Imperium would be crawling all over it, this is the last thing you want Abbadon or Ghazhkull to capture and set up shop on. If that planet gets attacked, your men should be fighting alongside Sisters, Marines and IG from god nknows where.

Not to mention the Adeptus Mechanicus would be present to make all of the plasma weaponary. Otherwise all of the plasma will have been shipped offworld and your regiment is unlikely to ever see it again in such great quantities.

...eh, that's kinda stretching it. Deathworlds are really only useful as places to draw troops from, not so much for their natural resources. If planet X was of any significance, a population would be imported there to make full use of it ala cadia. That having been said, a low population world is probably unimportant all around, although sisters may still go over there for humanitarian work. But then again, I'm almost positive the red cross never marches into battle.

Anyway, if you want some sort of fluff rationality behind the medics, just say your planet has a scientific minded population, or say that this regiment is raised from a settlement where the use of healing herbs is of huge cultural significance. Or, you could say your regiment's based near a very famous medical/research facility, or you could say that this regiment is Koth University's ROTC program... and they're not medics, they're bio majors... ok, that's less then stellar, but you get the idea.

Ill figure something out. If I can explain to a whole hobby shop why Witch hunters and Tau are fighting Eldar and IG, I think I can figure this out.

But about the army, im not gonna face any armor 14 tanks for a long time, but i still know upgrading all those guys isnt worth it. Any quick ideas?

oh no no, rockets to lascannons are nice, but at +10 points PER squad, i was wondering where else to put it. LC still is a option though

the rule I usaually go by is not to upgrade characters when you could have more troops. However, 42 points isn't enough for a squad of storm troopers, so I don't really see a problem with using those points for upgrades.
