im going to make a necron army as a secondary army.i am not too good with necron so plz dont be too harsh.here it comes:
HQ:
1 necron lord
-staff of light
-resurection orb 150 point
elite:
10 immortals 280 points

troops:

10 warriors 180 points

10 warriors 180 points

10 warriors 180 points

10 warriors 180 points

fast attack:

4 destroyers 200 points

8 scarabs swarms 96 points

heavy support:
1 tomb spyder 55 points

1501 points

you like it?this is a shooty list, and even though it may not be very mobile it can unleash hell at medium to close range.my spider is to help WBB and to slowly move with rest of my army to charge on of his units.the swarms will turbo boost and quickly tie up mean things like banshees, seer council, devastators and death company.the immortals will stay behind some of the warriors and support their advance.the destroyers will quickly get into good position and will most likely be kind of far away from the rest of my army, they will shoot at precious unit and try to get at vehicles flank.my warriors will make a sort of wall and i will try to put them all close to my lord so they can benefit from the orb.the lord is not a CC monster but he should do some damage.so i will basically move my warriors and lord up until they are in good firing position,my scarabs will disrupt the enemy while my destroyers and immortals will support the advance by unleashing hell on the enemy.when im close enough my spider will charge and all my warriors will shoot.i doubt anything can stand up to 40 warriors shooting.if they rapid fire it is even better :)

but isn't the heavy destroyer kind of useless...i mean i got destroyer for popping armour from the side.and the tomb spyder are good because they let my necron WBB if they are 12 inches from it and it is a pretty good assault unit if the enemy tries to asault me and it makes scarabs

Actually, most freindly games, and even some store tourneys wont make a HUGE deal out of one point since the only alternative would be to go anywhere from 10-17 pts under (from removing either a single scarab, or a single warrior. since we dont have any sort of wargear that cost little compared to other armies.)

Anyways, as to critiquing your list.

In 1500 pts it is definitely acceptable to have 24-36 warriors instead of the 40 that you have. The general rule is that you should have 10-12 warriors for every 500 pts in your army list. Going by the rule this means that you should have 30-36 warriors. I however have found that due to the extraordinary toughness of our basic troops that taking less than 30 is still acceptable (i.e. two squads of 12).

As to your individual units.

For your lord I definitly recommend putting a VoD on him since you only have two mobile elements in your army right now.

Your elites look good, though in 1500 pts you can afford to take a squad of 8 immortals instead of 10 to save points and still be effective. As long as they have a lord with a veil and orb that is.

You already have my comments on your warrior base.

Your fast attack looks decent. I myself would reccomend trying to run two units of 3 destroyers with the points you save from the warriors If all you did was drop a squad of warriors you could add 2 destroyers and a veil to your lord and still have 20 pts left. scarabs always make nice speed bumps so they can stay.

As to your Heavy Support. Tomb Spyders rock and so do Heavy D's (personal experience, some people just prefer to use normal Destroyers) you can either keep the Spyder or use your extra 20 pts to get a Heavy D instead. I actually think you should stick with the spyder so it can support your warrior base.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since your new to necrons, I'll take it upon myself to give you some tips. Necron army types are actually surprisingly similar to tau.

You have the extremely warrior heavy army that uses phalanx to slowly march on the enemy while dishing out serious gauss blaster fire. You have a balanced list with a decent warrior base with some Spyder support mixed with a decent dose of destroyer and wraith speed. Then you can also have the "flying circus," a mobility oriented army with a minimum of warriors (usually two squads of 12-15) and a heavy dose of destroyers, heavy destroyers, wraiths, and scarabs. Along with a lord with VoD to make the warriors mobile.

I like to compare these to static, hybrid, and mech tau. (referenced since i see you on the tau forums alot)

These are the basic army types that most necron generals go by, however there are some super specialised lists that make use of combos such as Deciever+Pariah+flayed ones.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ive been playing necrons for quite awhile and like to think that I know my stuff pretty well. SO if you need any further help feel free to ship me a pm.

------<EDIT TO ABOVE POST>-------

Your correct in comparing Heavy D's to destroyers against armor and picking Destroyers. However that isnt where Heavy D's come in as usefull. They are usefull when fighting things with 2+ armor saves since we have no other ranged weapon that can negate 2+. Examples would be Termies, TMC's, and even Wraithlords.
Also dont take TS to help with WBB since their most usefull ability is the counter assault they will get on anything charging your warrior squads, though the WBB abilities of it are still usfull, just dont have that as the reason you chose it.

well your revised list is only 1191pts (your lord is 10 pts too expensive)

this leaves you with 309 pts which means you can afford 6 destroyers which is what I recomend. I also still heavily stress that you should get a VoD on your lord. I would drop the spyder in order to get it. This will lend some much needed mobility. With my changes your list should look as follows.

Lord:200pts
Res. Orb
VoD
SoL

9x Immortals: 252pts

12x Warriors: 216pts
12x Warriors: 216pts
12x Warriors: 216pts

3x Destroyers: 150pts
3x Destroyers: 150pts
8x Scarabs: 96pts

Total: 1,496 pts

You could also drop one more immortal, save yourself 10-12 bucks, and get that scarab squad up to 10 (I like my squads to be in nice even numbers)

It would also help if you mentioned what kind of army you want your necrons to be? do you want them to be the opposite of your mobile tau? fast like them? or somewhere inbetween?

ooopps sry forgot to put destroyer sry, fixed it
about my army well i wouldn't want it to be like my tau which are VERY mobile,(3 hammerheads,6 crisis,12 stealth,6 fire warriors and 10 kroot).i would like a army that can take tons of damage and deal a lot of it too even if that mean being fairly slow.i like your list but i don't have the spider any more.

12 warriors 216 points

I think you forgot your squad of immortals ;)

But yeah, its a competitive list, you have your lord+immortals and destroyers for mobile heavy firepower

you have a solid base of warriors that will be hard to kill as long as you keep them close together in phalanx. Then you also have your scarabs to act as either speed bumps or to even take out soft targets (fire warriors, eldar guardians, etc.)
