I thought I'd post a new idea I had for a vampire counts list that is actually very to play :)

The list is extremely mobile, most units either being ethereal or flying units and a combination of screams and magic makes the list a very deadly aggressive army.

Tactics: The idea behind the list is to outmaneuver your opponent with superior movement, while you have your hexwraiths move through enemy units, banshees & terrorgheists scream into enemy units and the Master Necromancers casting spells. The list uses dire wolves and fell bats as chaffing units and the banshees can be used as secondary chaff units if needed. Ghouls can be used to take out light armoured units, which the terrorgheists and ethereal units won't bother dealing with (ghouls can also be used to bunker the tomb banshees from magic missiles during the early stages of the game).

Characters: The two master necromancers are kind of exposed, riding their hellsteeds, however they can still get 4+ "look our sir!" rolls from hexwraiths when remaining within 3" of these units and can also hide in the dire wolf units. The list offers quite a lot of magic protection but obviously has limited defenses against lots of shooting attacks, which remains the Achilles heel of the list. The regular necromancer is there as a safety-net from crumbling should the general die. The general is best used when used moved up aggressively on the board as he can support a forward 12" march bubble with his 20" flying marches.

Magic: Doom and darkness from the lore of death is great when used in combination with death shrieks / ghostly howls and the various character snipe spells can quickly reduce enemy leadership to make the screams even more deadly. Purple sun is always a great spell against ogre or troll equivalent units.
The general mainly works as a secondary caster, but can be useful as a forward healer for the army.

Any comments on the list? What do you guys think?
