hi
this is my 2000 point imperial guard army tha i am going to be using and im wondering if u guys can tell me the weaknesses and strengths of this army so i can then mabye re build it

Hey, you gotta take the specific points costs outta there.

Anyway, I dunno about sniper SWSs. Ratlings are a better deal. Also, the techpriest is pretty inefficient, even with yer vehicles. Too much junk on your tanks. I'd get the stubber off the Bassie too, as it doesn't mesh with indirect fire.

Ok, I'll just get the LO rules rant out of the way first.

1) Most important. We're not allowed to post the points costs of upgrades for copyright reasons, however we can post the total cost for each squad. So make sure you remove all of those before a mod burns you.

2) Armylists are meant to go in the IG Armylists forum.

Anyway, down to business.

Too much junk on the officer.

Remove:

Master Crafting (Not cost effective)
Bionics (Not cost effective)
Carapace armour (No real point considering this unit should be hiding out of LOS anyway)
Meltagun (As mentioned, you shouldn't be in LOS)
Veterens (Only keep one, upgrade him to a standard bearer, very useful)
Medic (As mentioned, you shouldn't be getting shot)

Another thing to note is that by giving a Junior Officer an Honourifica Imperialis, you then get your Heroic Senior Officer for 5 points less.

Sniper rifles are only useful when fired en masse. Three rifles doesn't count as en masse. So if you want snipers Ratlings are the way to go. I'd drop this unit.

Mortars are god awfully weak, not a good choice. A team of 3 Heavy bolters or 3 Lascannons are my favourite choices.

God no, get that flamer out of there! One of the Stormies strong points is their BS4, Flamers waste it. Grenade launchers aren't much better. For a ten man strong squad I'd go for two plasmaguns.

Right, get rid of all of the all of the Veteren Sergeants, drop them down to sergeants (yes that's right, the armoury crap goes as well). Next thing, many people believe Grenade Launchers are not worth it considering for a measly 2 points more you can have a plasmagun. I'd suggest going with that idea. Also meltaguns are fairly useless unless you're planning on using them in a suicide deepstrike squad, so change all of them to plasmaguns.

Personally, I hate sentinels. But if you're going to use them it's a good idea to split them into three separate units to prevent a single Heavy bolter from blowing up all three at once.

This is to be placed out of LOS, right? So then it's impossible to use the Heavy Stubber (not that you want to anyway) so it can be dropped.

One thing to note about the IG is that our armoury is not very useful. We're traditionally a horde army and so in saying that we need to generally minimise on the upgrades. If you wanted tooled up sergeants of doom, then you're barking up the wrong tree. Check out Space Marines or their Chaos cousins.
