Im not sure on the math for this army, im doing this from my head from a game i played the other day. Its prolly the magic items.

this is the list i played against LightningGus's 2000 fast,fear army(i lost) http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/t58192-2000-fast-fear.html

Im not sure about the sorcerer, it didn't do much, because of the sacred spawnings. all i did was kill 4 sauruses and do one wound to the carnesaur. I like the combat lord a lot, but everyone was saying i needed some magic(like in my 1000 pt list i posted here).

I only have 16 marauders cause i only baught one box(I just ordered them, and they're not even in yet)

You shouldn't use the sourcerer. you don't have have enough magic power with just him to justify taking him over a fighty lord.

+chaos fighty lords=uber beastness

When i played it was the first time i used a beast of a oldblood and it owned your knights. if you would have had a lord with AoD then maybe your knights wouldn't have gotten beaten so bad.

to counter the fear tactic, use undivideds best weapon in the matter : Marauders. You already have a unit but poorly geared. A great weapon will waste thier high initiative, and without armour those saurus will get a happy meal. bring numbers and steady ranks and combat resolution will keep you from autobreaking.

Crom will make them even better with a free mark of undivided. the sorcerer wont do much by himself, and cannot compare to the cheapest/most cost effective special caracter in the game.

If you want magic, go tzeench or nurgle, you will have access to 2 great lores this way.
First, turn your list into the archaons horde list from storm of chaos. You will get free commands on both marauders and warriors.

Marauders should look like this:
Light armour and shields, full command, 25 strong.

Like i said, i only have one box of marauders. I would like to use more, but i just dont have the models(or the money to buy more).

I am familiar with the archaons horde list. I prolly should have used it with this list. I threw this list together pretty quickly, without any thought.

I have 107 pts left, and i was wondering if i should add the banner of the gods in and take out a chosen warrior. I don't really have any other options, because thats all of my models. The only other models i have are characters.

Any suggestions on other things to buy(when i get some money) or changes to the army list to fill the points?

I think you have way too many heroes, thry and spend more points of troops or magical banners.

looks good but you can't have a shield on the bsb.

you have no defence against magic, so a sorcerer or even a champion of tzeentch could work.

definately drop the blade of blood off the lord as it only takes one cannonball and a failed "look out sir" roll to kill him, so give him gaze of the gods for the ward save.

possibly get rid of the chosen off the knights and get a few more of them - you can convert empire knights to chaos knights fairly easily.

possibly increase the amount of warriors in each unit by decreasing the third unit and maybe include flayerkin or even a spwan or two

no you can't have the shield but magic armour or even just a sword of might (+1 strength) should help you out.

as far as the magic bit goes - if you take a hero of tzeentch you not only get a magic user (with some kick arse spells to roll for) but also a fighty hero. at only an extra 70 points onto a hero level champ ( exalted or aspiring) you keep the WS, S, and A of the model.

the other thing you can do is take a few units of Khorne as the dispel dice will help you weather your opponents magic pahse and the frenzy can be handy. to gain some more magic dice you can take some units of tzeentch.

at only 45 points per unit for khorne and 20 ponits per unit for tzeentch why wouldn't you?

as far as the list goes use some to the hero models as champs of tzeentch or khorne and make a unit of warriors each for the heroes to accompany. that may eat up some points and please, oh, please get rid of the blade of blood and give your lord a ward save!

as far as what to buy next: more knights if you don't make them chosen and more units like marauders or warriors. even chaos spawn will be annoying to your opponents, being unbreakable and all.

I agree completely with you Wolf_Pack, Chaos armies need to maximise the amount of troops as much as possible.

But did you really need to quote aufde's entire post in your post and then only reply with one sentence!? :blink:

Your kind of going against what everyone is saying(and what i want to do, i don't like magic much). and if your talking about a hero sorcerer, then that wouldn't help much(one dispell dice, and a scroll or 2). Id much rather have a fighty hero.

A scroll or two is big, not small, you'd be suprised what one wizard could do.
That's for dealing with one or two really nasty unfortunate spells that could wreak havoc
on your forces. You know when your opponent's magic heavy army hits your best guys
with something nasty? That's what they're for.
