In my opinion you should take out the grenade launchers in your infantry squads (or at least some) and spend two points more for plasma weapons or Melta guns.

Or take out a few grenade launchers for Iron Discipline, its only five points per officer, and the benefits, to me, are worth much more.

As for the Harden Veterans: I don't think these are guys you want be be charging into close combat with. These guys are infiltrators who have better Ballistic Skills. One of the best things you can do in the game in infiltrate a heavy weapon... you can point it at anything you want to

Take out a greanade launcher in the Command HQ as you need two guardsmen for the HWC,

I agree with mist-man.. plasma. and you may want to add smoke to your russes..

I love the daemon + Ig armies.. i am trying to organise one my self.. thanks for the inspiration

well my choices for the hardened vets were to be a go between, as I thought just havy 11 grey knights with hardly any support is suicide, If this is a good idea having a cc guard unit helping out then please give me suggestions on what to use (just remember this is a cadian list with dh so no orgyns). If its not tell me why and whats better

The grenade launchers were more to do with accessibility since they come with cadian box sets. only 1 of the squads didnt have iron discipline just because of points.

heres a revised list with a 95 pnts gap for the extra squad please give me suggestions and tell me wheter my idea is good or not

As far as one of your Grey Knight Troops go, put them as a Fast Attack choice and even if you don't deep strike them, you get better placement. You can move one of your Sentinal to your HQ.

I always like a Psycannon on my Granmaster to use his BS5.

I think you need more Lascannons in general for your army.

I like the newer list. about gernade launchers, I just don't think they are worth it when you could get the Plasma gun or a Heavy Bolter instead for just two points more. (Think about it... 1/3 of a guardsmen for a S5 or S7 Weapon).

Next time your playing with this list, consider how well those Pintle Heavy Stubbers end up doing. They could end up pretty much useless compared to the inferno cannon. Plus, 24 Points ends up being alot of points in the Imperial Guard.

I don't really have much on the side of Close Combat. One thing I do in my lists is use independent commisars with a trademark item on a big conscript squad. They don't typically ever win, but they can last a damn long time in Close Combat (unless its a vehicle or monster). This gives you leadership ten (after you fail your first, and remove a model).

On your list, it would be a bit harder to make some room for a good size conscript platoon. But it is an option if your willing to re-work your list.

I found two other options I think could prove to be useful.
You can use and Inquisitor with a few henchmen to increase his CC powers.

Or you can use the Catachans Deathworld Veterans Patrol. They are basically like those Harden Veterans but with a WS 4 as opposed to the BS 4. They are fast attack and can infiltrait. However you can't give them CC weps and Pistols.

There are the same things in the Elities catagory, but a smaller max size.

at the moment im using army builder coz ive misplaced my codex but anyway it doesnt allow me to use cadian pattern sentinel in hq is this right or is my army builder wrong so it would cost me an exta 30 pnts to switch them to hq if my army builder is right, and then ive got the problem of 3 sentinels in 1 squad which is an easy target, is this worth it just for deepstriking gk's

The inquisitor sounds like a good idea, how about this set up for 95pts

I honestly like shooty inquisitors more and leave the CC to my Grey Knights.

I good shooty =][=is:
Inquisitor with Psycannon, Plasma Cannon Servitor, 2 Heavy Bolter Servitors, and 2 Sages and a Mistic.

well the troubl with that is its about 80pts to much, but what i can gather from the replies are that the grey knights can do all the cc alone without any guard backup, so assuming this is correct then i will use the 95pts for the following
