Hey there Just seeing if my first list seems solid enough against TK and Empire (My main rivals armies)


Lords: [HR][/HR]Beastlord with Ramhorn Helm, the Steel-Claws, and Armor of Destiny [245]

Great Bray-Shaman Level 4 Beast Wizard with Hagtree Fetish, Power Stone, and Talisman of Preservation [320]

Heroes:[HR][/HR] Wargor BSB with Heavy Armor, Shield, Gnarled Hide, and the Beast Banner [206]

Bray-Shaman Level 1 Shadow Wizard with the Shard of Herdstone [125]

Bray-Shaman Level 1 Shadow Wizardwith Dispel Scroll and Channeling Staff [115]

Core:[HR][/HR] Gor Herd x39 with Additional Hand Weapon and Full Command [337]

Gor Herd x15 with Additional Hand Weapon and Full Command [145]

Harpies x5 with Scout [70]

Harpies x5 with Scout [70][HR][/HR]General Will go with beastigor and BSB with the Gor block while the shamans sit back with the herdstone hexing and buffing where needed. The extra gor blocks and harpies/ungors will screen and warmachine hunt. Any major changes? What could make the army more effective (Particularly against the Tomb kings)

  1. Ramhorn Helm and Armor of Destiny are both Magic Armor... can only have one or the other.
  2. Try kiting out your general this way (or at least consider...) Also note this is designed to kill lots of Rank and File and not to butt heads with uber killy things...
    1. Sword of Might (Strength 6 with Primal Fury is nice)
    2. Ramhorn Helm for extra attacks (with Primal Fury re-rolling misses at S6)
    3. Dawnstone - re-roll armor saves with ramhorn is good synergy
    4. Other trickster's shard for forcing re-rolls on ++ saves
    5. Gnarled hide + heavy armor + shield + helm gives a 1+ AS
    6. You have the points to also pick up Uncanny Senses if you want to add +1 to your initiative as an option
  3. Standard of Discipline in the unit your general is in (Bestigors) will give +1 to Ld checks for all within his command range. (meaning primal fury rolls on Ld 10)
  4. Razorgors are excellent chaff/warmachine killers... they may bear looking in to
  5. Dispel Scroll and Channeling Staff are both Arcane items... only 1 Arcane Item per character... the staff isn't worth the points (same with Hagtree and power stone....pick one)
  6. On your Great Bray try Fencers Blades and Jagged Dagger... +1 Attack and WS 10 means you will be hitting on 3s and your opponents will need 5s to hit you + the benefit of bonus power dice.
  7. Beast list is relatively short ranged so you may need to put your greater shaman with your gor block. Plus with Transformation you will need to be close to the enemy for this to be effective.

Ah now I see the magic item restrictions. I kept going back and forth from the BRB and army book and was treating the magic items separately. Thanks for the input on the general builds and never thought about the standard of discipline but it looks good. Never thought of using razorgors for that but it seems obvious now after looking at their stats and points again.
