Tallarn, so taking light inf to be fluffy. Opponents could be Orks, 'Nids, SoB, IG or Chaos.

My plan is to put my units where I want them using infiltrate and then just stay there. The only units w/out Light are the Remnants and the Sentinel. The will be put out front as assault bait and everything will just fire away.

Command HQ @ [65] Pts
Autocannon; Lasguns (x3); Light Infantry
1 Junior Officer w/ lasgun

Infantry Platoon (Troops) @ 285 Pts

9 Infantry Squad @ [90] Pts
Heavy Bolter; Lasguns; Plasma Gun; Light Infantry
1 Sergeant w/ Lasgun

Heavy Bolter; Lasguns; Plasma Gun; Light Infantry
1 Sergeant w/ Lasgun

4 Remnants @ [40] Pts
Lasguns; Plasma Gun
1 Sergeant w/ lasgun

1 Sentinel w/ AC @ 50 Pts

This list gives me 3xACs, 2xHB and 3xPG and 36 Troops.

My other alternative was to drop the Sentinal in favor of another full Infantry Squad with HB and Plasma and light. So, 3xHBs, 2xACs and 3xPGs but 40 Troops. I have other variations that use MLs instead, no ACs and a lot more plasma guns... What do you think?

Personally I'd drop the remnant squad and sentinel for a chimera.
Chimeras are very tough in combat patrol because of their front armour and they can lay down a serious amount of firepower, especially if you can find the points for a heavy stubber.
