i think you need at least 2 troop choices. meaning landraiders plural are out of the question, terminators are out of the question if you take landraiders etc.

personally i would suggest two Gk squads, and an inquisitor lord. daemon hunters are expensive so you probably won't fit much more in. but try for a retinue and some wargear for you lord. you still need some antiarmour though.

 

Ignore what grandmoaner said, I'm pretty sure he was either spamming or misread the title as reading "5000 point mega battle" instead of 500.

I'd say take a Brother-Captain with no wargear or bodyguard (cheaper than a Lord in the long run), and two units of PAGK, as large as possible. No special weapons. If you want IST, take two small units of them with 2x plasma each (70pts each!), and a larger squad of GK to use as fast attack.

 

I actually like grandmaster's post, but the other way around: DON'T Use anything that he listed there =)

It's quite simple, DH's models are excpensive, you play with few points, use low-point cost units. Bodies is all that count's (and special weapons for IST's)

 

yeah, except sts dont kill units paricularly well - a few smurf a round if lucky (just hoping the dont get in to cc - and what happens against a heavy flamer force? - lots o dead sts. they wont win a horde battle either. some gk at least give you a hard point.
