That should, PM received. That makes 2 entrants.
It's come to my attention that the main thread mentioned a Dispel Scroll, and that in this thread I had discussed the possibility of allowing magic. I couldn't figure out how to make it work though, so Magic will not be allowed - therefore, just like in an arena, Casters get 35pts deducted from their base cost for every Wizard level they have.

I come bearing questions.

Well, question, more accurately, as you already answered the one I had about whether magic equalisers were still in play, which it seems they are.

I was wondering if there's some way we can get communicating (in secret, of course!) with our fellow forces of Order/Disorder. Secret forum groups?

Can we use the social groups in some sneaky way that I'm not yet aware of? I think that may work, as it seems you can make them invite only and make posts only visible to members.

I've been working on an entry for the campaign but I've so far come up with a few options, and thought some advice from my fellow campaigners as to which may best suit our needs could be handy. I'd be willing to set up the group and invite people unless someone else desperately wants to do that, but I didn't know if there were other options which might work better so thought I'd ask before leaping in.

I can't remember if I had other questions, I think that was it for the moment...

Secret or Invisible forums are something that I'm going to ask the other moderators about, as I'm not used to setting up social groups. I'll look into it, and I would be willing to set them up once the teams are decided and I can start popping invites around.

The biggest push that I can make is that if you're interested, please get a valid entry in as soon as you can. Without knowing the other members who will be on your teams until after the deadline, it will be hard to talk amongst yourselves and base your lists on what others have brought to the table. Remember also that you're list will always be on offense and defense, so while it may help to have a player on the team who is a "Defensive Specialist" and perhaps another who is "The Blitzer," each player will likely be asked to pull double-duty at some point during the campaign.

I AM courting the idea of allowing players to change their builds during the first week, after teams are decided. That way, you guys will be able to communicate etc. However, what I'm focusing on right now is making sure that players have a valid entry, so that we can get started as soon as we have everyone signed up. If you have a valid entry and change the composition/army later (provided you don't change teams) I'm okay with that - I still know that you have a legal entry, I still know that you can start with the rest of us, and if you don't get your changes submitted in time we can still move forward.
I don't want to take a bunch of names, turn everyone else away, and then find out that half the people who "signed up" can't submit valid armies. It's much harder to ask someone you've turned away to come back and play, than to simply take first-comers when they show up with a list.

Spots are filling quickly - looks like we might get 8 or more players in this.

Also - does anyone have some halfway decent mapping software so that this thing looks professional, rather than me just doing it in paint or something?

If you're good with that then I definitely have a couple minor changes I'd like to make to my general. I really rushed my build and realized afterwards that I didn't get as good as I might have.

The only mapping software I've really used was something called ESRI and I think it goes a little above and beyond what you're after...

Would you be able to use something like Vassal, and just screen-cap from that?
