I believe I've found the best replacement for the exorbitantly priced GW primer ever -- Quick Color.

I found it at Home Depot; it's in a generic grey can with QUICK COLOR in cool swooshy font on the front.

Best part? It's $0.99 a can. I couldn't believe how good it is. $10 per can of GW paint? Psh. I could get a year's worth of this stuff for that much.

So, to everyone's "what's a good alternative to GW's expensive primer", this is it. Get yourself to Home Depot and pick up some Quick Color.

And for those outside the US, I don't know. :(

I've recently started using Krylon Fusion spray paints as a primer/base. Not sure if this is a good idea for expert level painting, but it certainly suits my purposes.

Question is whether or not it is primer and not just spraypaint.
Yeah, spraypaint is cheap, and sucky. I tried some of my montana spray can paint on a test model, it was awful, thick, chunky and uneven.
