Master rune of Stromni redbeard confers an additional +1 bonus to bearers units combat result score. And the combat result of all other friendly dwarf units within 12". So would a combat that has 2 dwarf units gain +2, or 3 units gain +3? Or would the banner just confer +1 to any combat within 12"?

I think that it's the total combat resolution score. So whenever you determine CR for a Dwarf regiment in combat, you add +1 to the Dwarf side.

Combat Results are taken by side rather than by unit - this is why you only count one banner per combat, and one regiment's rank bonus. Once you've got the combat resolution worked out, say, 6 Kills +1 for Charging, +1 for a Flank Charge, +1 because one/both units have a banner, +3 Ranks from your big Warriors block, then you get +1 for carrying or being within 12" of the Stromni banner.

I see what you are saying about banners, ranks, etc. however the banner specifically calls out dwarf units not all combats within 12"

If the banner says all dwarf units, then its one per unit.
