You're going to want several PKs in there, the rest can be Big Choppas. That's some wound variety. One should have a Waaagh Banner and another a Bosspole, more variety. Cyborks would be good for all if you have points. After that use Kombi-Skorchas, Ammo Runts and other cheap things to make each model an individual.

I think big choppas are a waste. Powerklaws are better against vehicles, and slugga/choppas are just as effective against most opponents, for no additional cost.

I'm not a fan of the 'unique nob' strategy, as it's very cheesy (personal opinion), and you have problems when your opponent has attacks that cause instant death. As per the rules, unsaved wounds that cause instant death MUST remove unwounded models if possible, regardless of whether the unit's entirely unique or not.

So the question becomes: where do you put the first wounds? If you wound the less necessary models (usually the ones without powerklaws) then attacks that cause instant death will be eliminating powerklaws. If you wound the powerklaws first, then opponents that get a lot of shots/attacks, wounding everyone in the unit at least once, have a chance of killing the nobz with powerklaws before anything else.

Also, last I heard, there was disagreement over whether the bosspole and waaaugh banner count towards making models unique, or if they're simply upgrades that belong to the unit as a whole. So arguments are likely to follow whenever you exploit the rule.

It really overcomplicates the battle in a way that's not even realistic. I'd just skip it.

No, there's no rule that says they have to be unique, but many people like to make each unique because of a loophole in the rules. If each model is unique in a unit of multi-wound models, then you don't have to remove wounded models after failing armor/invulnerable/FNP saves. Instead, you can wound each model individually.

Normally, if you have 8 nobz and fail 2 wounds, you have to remove 1 nob. However, if they're all unique, the nobz that failed the saves instead just lose 1 wound each. This keeps them in the fight longer.

However, there are two problems with this:

1. It's incredibly cheesy and unrealistic (may not be a problem for some people ^_^).

2. Instant death.

According to the same rules, if you suffer a wound that causes instant death, you must remove a whole model if possible. So if you wound the less important nobz first, then instant death attacks may remove the more important ones instead. Either way there's a risk, so I just ignore the loophole, but do whatever you like.
