Well i think it is a great army (otherwise, i wouldn't have it my self). Let me give you a tip, if you don't already use it.

Take 2 dreadnoughts with plasma cannons and a tactical squad with plasma cannon. And if you have 120 pt to spend on something els you it to buy a vindicare assasin. As it can now fire on units in close combat (must need line of site). Take the difficult targets awaiy with the plasma cannons and the Lords with the assasin. This way, you'll have a much better chance of getting there without loosing to much marines.

as i have said before bart.

don't rely to much on plasma cannons, they're nice anti infantry, but there are times when you need something else..

I agree with the vindicare assasin idea.

it's real great, and you get to kill a lot of nice big kahunas (hq, sergeant, heavy weapon carriers)

I actually agree with the former, but only really against necrons and specialist space marine squads (termis, and better yet, assault squads)

I really dont like assasins, they are the biggest cop-out in my opinion. You play templars or whatever (ok, except daemonhunters) so use that army. The sad thing is ppl are now using things such as assasins and daemonhunters in all of their army lists (esp. things with weak close combat ability such as guard). This means that basically ppl dont really have to worry about their armies weaknesses, they can just use another to cover it

besides, assassinations can only occur with a two thirds vote of the imperial senate, using them in hundreds of games is a really good way of losing opponents

what opponents.

ya can take allies..

a space marine army can take a assasin.

everyone plays with a few special rules, maybe you not.

and even so, if someone takes a assassin, then you may as well, or you just could say, NO to that person wielding an assassin

i think u missed the point...

assassins are used only as a last resort. Rules wise, yeah u can use them whenever, but it can really unbalance the game and that sucks. Basically its a easy way out, it takes little skill to use someone with those abilities.

basically most ppl who regularly play against oponents who always take assassins get sick of them, from my experience at least.

think of it as playing the rules, not the game

assassins are cool, if the opponent doesnt say no at the beginning of the game then tell him to shut up and quit whinning when there slaughtering his troops, Its really stupid, people need to quit being children.

"Waaaaaa that Assassins cheap" <----- Idiot
"SHUT THE HELL UP YOU SISSY #@*&^!!" <--------ME

LOL
this is a prime example of were players should set the grounds befor the game

indeed, im not saying he cant

but ppl may not wish to play him if that is seriously his attitude (which i really doubt), i mean if u played some1 who consistently took an unreasonably army selection then gloated constantly, would u really want to play him??

That wasnt my point at all, read closer. I said that if you let a player use assassins, dont wine and cry when they tear up your army. because it would be your fault there in the army. I wasnt being an *ss about it. I just hate when people whine about something they agreed on!

(and just for the record, if someone was to do that, sure Id say that. it would be there own fault that the assassins were in the army in the first place)

(and another thing, I have no problem getting opponents, i just get cocky and then they challeng me )

assassins are not special characters, u can use them regardless of your opponents consent

I havent ever heard of a player actually requesting to use them (most ppl just throw them in)

If indeed you only use assassins when ur opponent agrees then yeah ok, thats fair enough, and ok they should not whine

Areal,..you spoke of deamon hunters in ppl's armies. I don't know much ppl who do that in our gaming club. Usualy the gray knight player uses guard (weak... <:> ) to help him in case of a good cc army (like black templars  ). But i don't use them. They are expensive and i don't need gray knights to beat the ***** out of deamons. I can do that my self (but is is a good timp anyway).

As for the assasin,..wouldn't it be nice to do a chaos lord 2 wounds before you get into cc with him?? Or other champions and stuf..(do not include tau 8| ), they suck.

I have battled with nurgel death guard and their lord is a real nut to crack.
