How do you model a brazier of hoyl fire? What does it even look like?

There's the flaming Back pack the new cannoness models have, there's also the acolyte holding the two thin flamer tubes. And that sage which you can use as an acolyte holding a book and a long staff with a fire on the top.

If you want to model try a peice of copper tubing and attach something like a flamer hear or on of the tips of the models I've mentions above, of course try to add abit more on than just that to make it look authentic, but those are just the bare minimun. :)
Well... a Brazier is basically a bowl where you burn things. The black coach has a couple...

As long as it's some sort of flaming vessel - bowl, torch, thurifer (that's one of them incense-globes you see altar boys with) - it should be fine.

I just modeled my Seraphim Superior to have one - removed her pistol, bent the wrist down a bit, and used the torch-top from one of the Throne of Judgment's banner bits. Fashioned a bottom out of a plastic Brettonian lamp top, so it sort of looks like a "Goblet of Fire." Oh, yeah... we'll be calling her Sister Superior Potter, alright.
lol. Got another one for you: seraphim with inferno pistols. THere doesn't seem to be a model for it, and the only inferno pistol I can find is commander Dante's.
Brazier - On my Sera VSS I removed one pistol (just the top and the bottom, keep the hand), drilled the hand through and fed some hobby chain through. The top end I wrapped around her hand (covered up a multitude of sins :) ) and the hanging end I mounted on to (in to actually) the top of a plastic skull. Metallic paint the skull and paint effect flames in the eyes and mouth with smoke up the face. Looked ok.

Inferno's - chop the front of your Bolt Pistols or Flamers on the Sera/Character and add a melta gun muzzle to the remains of the stock. Easy and looks like the short range cannon it is.

Cheers
Mark :p
Another option for infernos is to take them from the canoness sprue:

but it is a bit overpriced (2£ a pistol ~.~)

The bishop solution remains the most used

I cut a torch off of another miniature and used that. :)

You could just use a plastic melta barrel and stick it on a bolt pistol...

But then it's got that clip, which doesn't make sense, and it doesn't have the iconic "melta bulge" - that sort of oblong piece with the small rectangles on it - or the hoses, or...

Sure, it's good 'nuff for gaming I suppose, but really just looks like a Bolt Pistol with a funny flash supressor.

I'd suggest using either Dante's or the Canoness's Inferno Pistol, sawing away the holding hand, and saw away the bolt pistol or hand flamers from one of the bolt pistol Seraphim. they're all 90-degree cuts, so cutting, cleaning, and mating the new guns to the hands is pretty easy.

It looks bulky, but cut the barrel off a meltagun, replace the barrel on the bolt pistol with that, cut the mag off the bolt pistol and replace it with a melta bomb from the SM sprues (most SM players have loads of these lieing around) with the handle cut off
Finally got some pictures up on my site of what I mentioned above - Only the bases are painted so far, but there's black-primed pics of the Seraphim conversions (Superior with Brazier/Eviscerator, Inferno Pistol sister, Flamer and BP converted Seraphim). At the top of the BLOG here: http://www.minivault.com/SistersBLOG.htm

Hope that helps for some ideas!
Sorry, Commander, but that looks like a Cup O Flame. Granted, it is much better than anything I can come up with, but that was the first thought I had when I saw that.

Dude, did you ever think about the fact that BRAzier has a CUP-size?
Any bowl that holds a flame will do. Even a little crack-pipe could technically serve the function. :w00t:

I think it's excellent.
Btw- where do I get a bit for a plastic chainsword without buying a huge sprue of bell bottoms? I need to convert some swords to eviscerators.
Eh, just get some hand flamers and make them 'count as' BoHF. ;)
I made a staff with a torch on its end.
I used a piece of a thick paper clip and made the flame with clay, and I made the lattice with tuny strips of tin foil. I also drilled a little hole in the base of the user & insert the staff in it until used. After it's used, I remove it.
shrug i just green stuff'd flames to the existing sword. They kinda look like flaming popsiciles. at least now i can use them either as power swords or BHFs
When I first saw this entry in the WH Armory I thought of a pic in the third edition BBB. There was a Sister holding a staff weapon (spear, long axe, halberd, whatever, the business end wasn't visible) with the end opposite the blade/point/whatever pointing up. Hanging off the end of this staff was a trio of chains holding a bowl of flame. If you have the book, the pic was somewhere in the first section. I imagined her swinging and stabbing with the staff while tracers of flame whipped around her... then, like in the description, a fatty gout of flame spat out at one of the heretics. It was pretty vivid...
