If it is the Model I'm thinking of; the multimelta powerfist guy, he has a cloak that makes it hard to give him wings and make it look beliviable. I would recommend you to use another model as a base for this project.
i found that the plastic CSM's are great for conversions and I think you could do well with one of them instead. The wings and sword will make him stand out enough compared to your basic trooper.
Finally, the combimelta is quite a lousy weapon on a Lord. Better just give him meltabombs and a Boltpistol. He belongs in CC.
