i was thinking about converting my vendettas/valkyries to look like Chinook helicopters. Basically removing the wings, putting twin blades on the top of them and gluing the weapons onto the side to complete the gunship effect.
i basically wanted to see what u guys thought of this idea

I say go for it. At least you won't have those giant wings in your way.

I've been thinking that it would be cool to convert one up like the NERV vtols from Neon Genesis Evangellion.

I'm not too sure about those killzone landing craft, I think the IG care enough about their troopers to at least give them a windscreen.

edit: So I was doing some internet searching and came upon these, If your going to do a Chinook, I'm all for it , but I think that it may be too big for gaming purposes, they can hold upwards of 36 passengers, If your looking for something to take only 12 like the Valk does I'd check out Blackhawks, or even the Russian Hind helicopters, they fulfill very much the same role as the Valkyries, armed with high caliber guns and rocketpods, they also have the capability to drop a squad of infantry at their target.

I think this is the most ridiculous thing I have heard, ever.
IG are lucky that their spacecraft have windscreens.
C'mon man, the tried, tested and used to death tactic with IG is to choke the enemies guns with the bodies of your fallen.

Sorry but sitting through more than half of the show in one night and seeing the main character hardly change and progress really just made me hate it. I am also not a big mech fan as well. If it has to be mech it has to be Earth Federation vs. Zeon or Big O.

Now this is an interesting idea.

How will you manage to create the tandem rotors of a CH-47 Chinook? I guess smashing two Valkyrie bodies together, end to end, may help.

You could also try gluing the wings upside down, and adding rotors to the wingtips, in making a VTOL aircraft.

I would be interested in seeing any pics of your project, and its progress.

The helo look is a great idea but i think it would be just a bit difficult to do with a chinook type with the valkyrie, the valk just doesnt have enough body size unless you REALLY like plasticard. An esier way, i think, would be to put the tail ends together and modify the rear of the valk and make it a single rotor helo w/ tail rotor, or you could make it up like the V-22 Osprey http://www.jetfly.hu/rovatok/repules/katonai/hirek/prognozis_060222/V-22 Osprey.jpg

The new toy line from the avatar movie has pretty inexpensive helicopter-plane thingies. If you want to keep your conversion GT legal, i'm sure you can add them to a valkyrie pretty easily.
