Well ive moved to Brisbane(Capital city of qld :p) and now im lookin forward to some tourneys, which i intend to do really well at :p So while im still buildin my army may aswell plan it now.

Well currently my style that would suit me is a static shooty army with assualt marines for some assaulting i guess. So i went out and bought the core of my army and some cool lookin units. So this is what i have.

Emperors Champion - glued

10 man tactical squad - in box
10 man tactical squad - in box

Predator Annialator - glued
Has Lascannon turret and heavy bolter sponsons.

So here is my questions. I have not started painting yet and have not picked my army yet, i wanted Black Templars because emperors champion is kool but apparently i cant use a librarian, which is what i also want. So im thinkin of makin the emperors champion a captain or somethin but i dont know. So yeah, what army should i pick?? Suggestions away, reason i dont like black templars kinda is because i dont get devestator squads, whirlwinds, and librarians, which is what i all want. Not lookin at any fast attack at all thouhg so thats good in a way if i make my own using traits or whatever.

Was lookin at gettin 7 termis and a librarian, stickin em in a LRC and ere we go. Some assualt cannons and i should be fine :p

Or gettin a 5 man command squad, + captain + razorback and kabang :p

Lookin at makin my whole army mechanized / deep striked or whatever for the theme.

Still want this to be a good tournament army so yeah. Suggestions away!!!

Dark angels, how hard would they be to paint as this is my first army that im gunna paint myself. Also what can i do with my emperors champion?

I was thinkin of makin an iron warriors army in pre heresy colours and givin em the same seige rules except the chaosey ones and goin from there, i like the colour scheme except all the skulls and pointy stuff etc :p

Like they came off some medium size cruiser that got stuck in the warp and has only recently came back into civillisation. Plz help

hmm, i played with dark angels along time ago but i didnt know much and it didnt look any good, probably because i couldnt paint and neither could anyone else.

What about imperial fists, classic army :p What skills they get, as in many battle reports i always see them with many tanks :p

It just sucks that there are no space marine armies that suit my style of playin :p

When i walked into games workshop the first time and asked to pick an army that suited me, i should went with imperial guard and their tank column, he said is was gunna be expensive but at least id have what i wanted :p

that sounds alot more like me :p Seige army but no speciial rules, blahst, but does that mean i can have traits or not? Second them iron hands sound good, Just checked the space marine codex and both colour schemes look real nice and i think i could paint em :p

Now i just got a stupid emperors champion left, oh what will i do with you, independent characters are soo random. Just give him a power weapon and articicer armour and send him to his doom?

Stupid sword, why cant i get more options in the space marine armoury :p If i make it a power sword, its k00l but it strikes last, if i make it a normal close combat weapon, well thats just it, its just a close combat weapon and i dont have a pistol or anythin. Ghast.

God i should put more time into decidin my army before i go out and buy all the k00l lookin stuff.

i really just wanna stick to imperial fists, but i dont think that the 3 elite(dreads) and 3 heavy supporrt( 2 preds and a whirlywind) will be enuf, but come to think of it, that will do i guess :p And just have a command squad in a razorback, tool em up. Wait a sec, a company champion, is armed with a power weapon, combat sheild and bolt pistol, if i just model on a bolt pistol to the hip, would an emperors champion work for a company champino?? If not just stick a commander with power sword, artificer armour and the rest in a 5 man squad with a vet serg, 2 melta guns, and 2 guys with bolt pistols and cc weapons. Kapow! In a razorback with twin heavy bolters, kapow. Some serious guys to mess with.

Or even better, just stick vet sergeant, 4 marines with cc weapons and commander, and ere we go!!. Leave the tank huntin up to the second squad in the second razorback :p Let the hq squad chew through the soft gristly bits first :p

Heavy bolters count as defencive weapons im told, so does that mean i can move 12 inch with my razorback, then disembark 2inch, then assualt 6 inch into battle? While still shootin my pistols at them, and still shootin wtih my heavy bolters on my razorback? Im sorry if this is wrong please correct me as i havent played for about 8 years.

Also give my vet squad termy honours at + 10 points each and + 15 for sergeant, that gives me for my squad. Umm.
5 commander attacks(3 + termy honours +2 weapons),3 vet sergeant attakcs( 1 + termy honours + 2 weapons) + 12 marine attacks ( 4 guys with 3 attacks of (1 + termy honours + 2 weapons)) for a total of 8 power weapon attaacks( power weapons for sergeant and comander) + 12 normal attacks. So 20 attacks from a 6 man squad that can move 12 + 2 + 6 inches into an assualt. Sounds good, but probably expensive, and probably i got this wrong at every turn.

well they wont be huntin off by themselves, thell be supported by 2 or 3 6 man tactical squads in razorbacks or 2 squads in rhinos. I was thinkin of gettin 6 man tac squads with lascannon and missile launcher in each. Comments please. Or would this mechanized army be too much of a drain on points to not have a proper firebase?

Hq In razor squad as mentioned before

2 troops in rhinos as troop requirments

elites be a dread or 2, or a termy squad in a land raider.

Heavy Support, pred annialator, maybe 2, maybe a whirlwindy, or a razorback or 2 with dev squads :p

so if i go mechanized, ill need to have less tanks and more troops in transports, or go for a bigger army with more troops and still have my 3 heavy support choices?

Eg, try to keep my troops/ heavy support points about equal until i get my 3 heavy support units then after that go troops/ elites with equal points?

Well i want a mechanized shooty army, with everything that cant be mechanized to be deap striked(like assualt marines as it would be such a waste of givin em a razorback/rhino!

Well i have kinda realized that, and will only be razorbackin my main units(hq, dev squads) etc, and rest will be drop podded in (tactical squads) or deep striked (termis/ assault marines).

that sounds good, ill keep that in mind. I wanted a mechanized imperial guard army but the guy at the store said it would be too expensive(that doesnt really worry me), and also the imperial guard tank column might not be allowed in tourneys(blast!) so i went space marines, and when you compare a razorback or rhino to a chimera, id rather have the chimera :p I dont know how strong a multilaser is but it must be better than a stupid storm bolter :p
