think im about 1,025 points what can i drop to bring it down?

tactics
the first platoon rushes forwards with company command squad with demolisher in a supporting role, marbo does his thing in the enemy lines targetting enemy leaders and hurty looking infantry with the storm troopers.
second infantry platoon hangs back a bit sitting on objectives and destroying enemy armour and transport tanks.

fluff
renegade guardsmen attacking random planets and causing maximum disruption after they sided with a renegade planetary governor and were defeated. siege specialists hence demolisher(and i lyk the cannon) given special training whilst still fighting for rogue governor hence storm troopers. they are traitor hence ratlings (mutants) i would use veterans but i lyk the idea of massed, undisciplined guardsmen looting random planets so i ignored veterans i was going to include a squad with yet more heavy weaponry as i have models left over but i didn't have enough points

HQ:
Try not to take different weapons here. If these guys are for sitting back and giving orders how about just grabbing a Heavy Weapon instead?

TROOPS:
PCS - Loose the powerfist. These boys do not want to get into combat. If they do they're dead meat.

Infantry. How about getting one Platoon to give support fire and one to advance and capture objectives? Remember you can always combine squads to make good use of orders.

Lascannon squads are good and this is the only time i'd really say get a Vox. Those BiD orders are seriously needed. Again combining these squads to make the best of those orders.

Advancing Squads. Grab Melta guns for these guys. They'll need something to ward off things Like Dreadnaughts and what have you that would otherwise walk through the poor fellas.

ELITES:
Stormies are fine but you don't need the power weapon or the extra guy. Keep them simple with 2 Melta guns and five bodies. They're not the best use for the points but hey they do what they do.

HEAVY:
Good but with only 1 vehicle he is going to get alot of guns pointed in his direction. try and always take things in pairs. This way if you loose one it's not too big a deal as you have a back up.

How about something like this?
CCS – Lascannon, Vox – 75pts

Platoon A (Grab dem fings!)
PCS – 4 G-Launchers – 50pts
INF, Melta gun – 50pts
INF, Melta gun – 50pts
INF, Melta gun – 50pts

Platoon B (Dakka boys)
PCS – Autocannon – 40pts
INFx2 (combined) 2x Lascannon, 1x Vox – 145pts
INFx2, 2x Autocannon, 2x G-Launchers – 130pts

Marbo – XXpts

Demolisher, Hull H-Flamer – 165pts.
Demolisher, Hull H-Flamer – 165pts.

That leaves you 15pts left for some changes or extra goodies.

yes, that second list does seem a slightly better build. was thinking of using straken in the command squad to represent the heretics leader? but i will definetly take a closer look at that proposed build. only one problem i can see is where do you get single models with melta-guns? i know you can get blister packs of cadians - one with a melta gun one with a plasma gun but i don't want to buy lots of these only to not use the plasma gun as they are quite expensive but, yes i will definetly consider that second build when i'm building a second draft.

Ooooh yeah, Straken would be a nice addition. Some nails Chaos Marine leading his minions sounds good.

Melta guns? Now that i can help you with. GW do a mail order bitz pack of 5 Melta guns or Plasma guns so these are pretty handy. Games Workshop

i have a conversion that i'm using, its a cadian guardsmans legs with a chaos space marine torso. used a powerfist in one hand, filed of the "bobble" on the models back that the back-pack should fit to, have added a fantasy beastamans head, and the model is carrying a powerfist in one hand and the other is a strongly muscled bare army carrying a short sword.

yes, i will probably add him as straken when i move onto 1.500 pts. not quite sure about having a second demolisher? i see the reason but the models are rather expensive... and cost is a large issue at the moment with me, am hoping to have the second platoon and heavy weapons soon though

is the second demolisher really needed? you said take things in pairs but it seems i'll have to spend a large amount of money buying all the necessary models... i'm getting the extra platoon definetly (the dakka boyz) but even this addition is going to take most of my money, is there a cheaper money-wise alternative to the extra demolisher?
