I've recently joined this Forum and I've only started this game last month.

Anyone have suggestions as to the best way to defeat Dark Eldar?

I've heard suggestions of having a couple of Dreadnoughts to occupy Wyches, but other than that nothing else.

Thanks

they only have a 6+ save but they have a 4+ invulnerable save in hand-to-hand, as well as halving your weaponskill (to 3 in GK case). They also are fleet of foot and can be given a fast transport so they will close extremely quickly. Your best bet is to shoot down a few of their transports, as they die to storm bolter fire.

Dark Eldars most easiest opponent to defeat is space marines, and grey knights resembles them in a way. I can tell you these pointers.

-Warriors (basic unit troops) pose no threat to anyone.

-Watch out for sniper squads. Usually 10 warriors w/ 2 dark lances. Theyll take out your dread and land raider in a heartbeat.

-Warrior squads fielded on raiders are mainly used to block los for the hq and wyches. Theyll move 12-24 inches a turn to take advantage of the fast abilities. Just use psycannons on raiders and youll glance on 4s.

-Take out ravagers as fast as you can; as they can get up to 3 plasmacannnons for weapons.

-Wyches are easy to kill when shot at, but in cc, their affectiveness depends on their roll for combat drugs. Usually the biggies are +1 strength, +1 attack and re-roll misses.

Strength 4 means they hit on 3s, wound on 4s, 3 attacks each on charge.
+1 attack means thats 4 attacks on charge, hits on 3s, but needs 5s to wound.
Reroll misses means they will probably get more than 2/3 of their attacks on you, but still need 5s to wound.

The 4+ inv is pretty annoying but avoid cc as much as possible.

HQ is way scarrier than wyches by far. BY FAR!!!!! Usually, only 2-3 grey knigths die in a single charge, which is pretty bad already. But when it comes to HQ, we talking 2+ inv save, 6 attacks charging, reroll misses (combat drugs [2]), wounds always on 4+ power weapon, 3 wounds and initiative of 7. Basically, an archon+5 incubi charge onto 10 man marine squad = all marines dead. Almost same thing for grey knights cus of same initiative and save.

Id say do this. Take your stormtroopers/inducted guard/marines and put them infront of grey knights to block LOS to your grey knights. Shoot w/ marines, shoot w/ grey knight stormbolters, shoot w/ everything. EVERYTHING at raiders. As they can only kill marines, then youll save your precious grey knights. Dont always stand and shoot. Thats how most marines are killed. They are offered a chance to run but dont and get slaughtered. I also suggest a squad of devastators w/ 4 missle launchers. Strength 8 for raiders, blast for infantry.

Hope this helps.

Do you use Inquisitorial Storm troopers as well?

Or Space Marines?

Along the same lines. Whats the best way did you guys work?

Daemonhunters as the main army with Space Marine allies or vice versa?

Regards
Obi
