I need all of your help on this one. One of my friends and I were going to create a blood angles company thats HQ is a dude with wings. Both of us have read the Dues Encarmine and Sanguinius books from the black library and wanted an army sort of like the "rebels" except they arent touched by chaos. What im trying to get at is We need some fluff on how the commander got wings and stuff like that. If you all could help me with this then i would really appriciate it. Thanks

P.S. Typing with one hand so there might be mistakes:shifty:

Either they could be bionic (rules jump pack) and they are simply a rare item of war gear that has been designed to honour the chapter primarch or if you want something more exotic like a mutation then your commander (and his loyal marines) probably would be declared heretics but may still fighting the forces of chaos. Which were you thinking?
I wanted them 2 be more of a mutation that counts as a jumpack. I started the fluff about how he got his wings. Basically he was the company champ and he was fighting the chaos marines of the Black Legion for an artifact of sanguinius that was lost in a warpstorm after sanguinius was slain and the warmaster/leader of the company of the Black Legion they are fighting slays his leader and then he picks up the holy artifact and wings burts out of his back while he is fighting the chaos leader and he slays him and the men of his company promote him as leader and they whisper he is the reincarnate of sanguinius.

As you may know, DerkaDerka, my Sanguinary High Priest has wings. My explanation is that he has been blessed by Sanguinius, after many hard fought battles and acts of heroism. He, too, recieved his wings after battling the forces of Chaos. This is a charge by Sanguinius himself to fight in the name of mankind. The Angels Malleus revere him as a great leader. The Inquisition no doubt sees otherwise...
I must admit I don’t see why your Champion can’t have got his wings in the manner you suggest. Mutations are well enough described in the canon fluff that you can apply them to your characters, especially whenever Chaos is involved. In the Blood Angels bilogy (I wonder what else to call a series of only two books ) it was revealed that (highlight) the Blood Angel blessed with wings was in fact touched by Chaos and merely a pawn of the Ruinous Powers, but I don’t see why this must necessarily be the only way for such a mutation to occur.

The warp is a common source of mutagenic influence, and it seems to me that a Space Marine fighting with a warp-imbued relic of his own Primarch against a descendant of said Primarch’s arch-nemesis is not unlikely to be affected by this in some way or other; add to the mix an open warp portal or other powerful source of raw warp energy and you can be sure of a spectacular result. I see no reason why you shouldn’t be able to include a winged character in your army with this background and using the jump-pack rules. ;)

Grephaun is right..

Just remember however that all mutations, ultimately, stem from chaos (at least, from the energies of the warp.) Sanguinius himself was distrusted by some for his mutation.

However, not all mutations are guided by a conscious malevolent evil trying to make you its pawn. As Grephaun suggests, sometimes it's just an unfortunate exposure to warp energies.

Duet maybe? Because a series of four books is a quartet.
Your company could have traveled through the warp and being attacked by chaos. This caused some mutations on their bodies, with the commander being the most mutated, since he stood at the frontline. As the unit dropped out of the warp, they were declared excommunicate and chased by the Grey Knights. They accepted their fate as outcasts, but are still loyal to the Emperor.
I guess i can say that while the Blood ANgles where boarding a Black Legion ship during a warpstorm to destroy the Chaos Commander he(my leader) was sent a vision from sanguinius that didnt put him into the black rage instead he grew wings while fighting the chaos commander guy. I could say something like the chaos guy bested the blood angles commander and threw him off the railing they where fighting on. But the Blood angles guy sprouted wings and flew up and killed the Black Legion Guy.

I dont know if any of you noticed but i am using the Black Legion since Horus was their Primarch so its kinda like sanguinius fighting horus.

Ill try and post some pic if i can borrow my friends digital camera to show you how he looks b4 i paint him.

Very good, except I can't see the Grey Knights chasing very much.. It's not very dignified for the most awesome warriors of ultimate coolness to be running around shouting 'I'll get you next time, Blood Angels!'

In the only example I've read about which features much detail on the grey knights actually exterminating a group of marines to the last man, a single terminator squad teleported without warning on the chapter's battle barge and killed most of its occupants in hand to hand combat, where they didn't stand a chance.

Given that they're extremely psychic, and thus highly intuitive, I can see them not so much running, but waiting in silence at the place you're going to go, having already divined its location. Either that, or suddenly attacking out of the blue. If you're going to use them as adversaries in fluff, make them extremely terrifying, and always overplay their power level and abilities.. Remember, a Grey Knights terminator squad used to cost close to 2000 points.

Tangential, but everything important has already been said, so I figured I'd throw in something minor. ;)

I believe the correct term is duology.

Um... Right...:(

Uh... Yeah. Right. About your fluff... It isn't uncommon for mutation to occur, especially when fighting the forces of chaos.

Sorry. I can't write a full post for this. I am deeply creeped out.:x
Hello. I am God. You guy can have wings because I say so.

(Also, the company clearly travelled through the warp or something, and a blessing from Sanguinius is a good excuse too).
Oh dude sick i didnt mean it that way i was eating dinner so i could only type with one hand and i like to use all the smilies geeze now that i look at it i might want to change it.
Personally I assumed you'd broken an arm or something. It strikes me as rather stupid that you couldn't just wait ten minutes to post it. Also, why were you eating at your computer in the first place, thats why we invented tables.
Well being only in High School we do get alot of stupid papers so while i was bored i decided to post a thread because i was going to spend the rest of my night cranking out this dumb paper. So that is why i was eating at my comp.
Now, guys, this is not a discussion on the table manners of today’s teenagers and high school’s impact on the aforementioned, nor shall we go into details on the subject of one-handed typing since this is a PG-13 rated forum. We don’t have rules demanding that all posts be typed with two hands, as long as they’re intelligible; however, I don’t see why using only one hand should somehow diminish one’s sense of grammar and syntax (unless of course you suffer from a very rare cerebral defect, in which case I apologise for my presumptions).

Instead of typing out a warning about the post being one-handedly written you should rather take a minute to hit F7 on your keyboard and spell-check your document before copy-pasting to LO. That will save you from a lot of underhand comments in the future. ;)
