Deep Striking?

Can Eldar units deep strike? If so, what units can deep strike? I heard that the eldar use a webway portal or gateway thing? I really could use some help here. I don't see anything tht says they can't or can deep strike. So please help! lol

The way I remember Swooping hawks can deepstrike but I cant recall for sure cause I play dark eldar.
Webway portal is taken usualy in close combat based armies, its usefull cause until the portal is open, the units are hidden and cant be attacked and when they come out they can assault the same turn. So what you do is rush a carrier to the enemy line, open portal, and next turn ur units jump in the warzone and assault. VERY useful for wych cult armies. However its useful to have 2 portals in case carrier gets killed.

I think it's only Swooping Hawks that can deep-strike. AFAIK, the Wraithgate (pretty much just like a Webway Portal) is used only by Ulthwe.

More specifically....Ulthwe strike force if memory serves me correctly.

I guess. . . but is there any advantage to using a standard Ulthwe force over Ulthwe Strike Force?

hell yeh standard ulthwe' can still use wraithlords and falcons and the restrictions on aspects while still there is not so severe.

and yes it is only swooping hawks atm

All the rules for USF (ulthwe strike force) are listed in the eye of terror. They are the only army eldar have that has warp gates

Codex eldar tells you what normal units may deepstrike, specifically, as mentioned several times, only swooping hawks and a single special character can deepstrike, as they carry wargear or are equipped with gear that allows them to do this. For further questions/answers, please check your codex, instead of asking for blanket rules.

Also, as mentioned, USF and ulthwe do differ in a great many ways, as ulthwe cannot take a spear of Khaine, warlocks aren't forced to carry WBs or SSs (again check for which units this effects, all in the rules for each squad), and Ulthwe has a much larger selection to wraith bone constructs, most notably our transports. Lastly, USF has no "normal guardians", as they are all (including pilots and gunners) black guardians, vs ulthwes X squads. Again, for more specific rules, please check codex eldar, CWE, and EOT.

Thanks for all your help. I now know that I will build a Ulthwe army. I jsut needed to clarrify that. Now I know what I can and cannot do. Thanks
