Well if you dont want transports of any kind your going to need to lose the grenadiers, a good alternative is to take valkyries, works very well into a drop troop list, lose one of the grenadier squads and your upgrades on your sentinels and you can afford it, anyways valkyries come with hellstrike missiles wich are much better then hunter-killer missiles for armor penetration.
Well, I don't see Valkyries in the Imperial Codex, where do you find the rules for such a model. What if you opponents won't let you use such a Air Power? Are they Games Day Legal?
I have changed the list after overlooking it, noticed it wasn't giving me the Orbital Drop feeling I was going for, so here is the updated one:
Imperial Special Forces Army - Diving Falcons
Doctrines: Drop Troops, Special Weapon Support Squads, Storm Trooper Squads
HQ: 170
Command Squad: 105
Heroic Senior Officer + 4x Guardsmen
Master Vox, Autocannon
Special Weapons Support Squad: 65
6x Guardsmen
3x Sniper
I plan on just setting up the HQ in a good section of cover, and not Deep Striking him. I'd rather have his LD be used for the rest of the Army. I will probably Deep Strike in the Special Weapon Squad, try to get a good position, or just keep them covering the Command Squad.
Elite: 437
Hardened Veterans Squad 1: 120
Vet Sgt + 9x Vets
3x Melta Gun, Vox Caster
Storm Trooper Squad 1: 171
Vet Sgt + 9x Troopers
Power Weapon, Honorifica Imperialis, 2x Melta Gun, Vox Caster, 10x Deep Strike/Infiltrate
Storm Trooper Squad 2: 146
Vet Sgt + 9x Troopers
Power Weapon, 2x Plasma Gun, Vox Caster, 10x Deep Strike/Infiltrate
I got ride of the Grenaiders Doctrine because it wasn't allowing me to Deep Stike the lovely Storm Troopers. I'll use the Veterans and Storm Trooper Squad 1 as Tank or Heavy Infantry hunters, which Storm Trooper Squad 2 will probably provide Fire Support elsewhere.
Troops: 470
Infantry Platoon 1: 235
Command Squad:65
Junior Officer + 4x Guardsmen
Vox Caster, 2x Melta Gun
Squad 1: 85
Sergeant + 9x Guardsmen
Heavy Bolter, Vox Caster, Plasma Gun
Squad 2: 85
Sergeant + 9x Guardsmen
Heavy Bolter, Vox Caster, Plasma Gun
Infantry Platoon 2: 235
Command Squad: 65
Junior Officer + 4x Guardsmen
Vox Caster, 2x Melta Gun
Squad 1: 85
Sergeant + 9x Guardsmen
Heavy Bolter, Vox Caster, Plasma Gun
Squad 2: 85
Sergeant + 9x Guardsmen
Heavy Bolter, Vox Caster, Plasma Gun
I chose to give the Command Squads Melta Guns, to be suicide anti tank. While my guardsmen squads will be fire support.
Fast Attack: 420
Sentinel Squadron 1: 240
3x Sentinel
3x Armageddon Pattern, 3x Armoured Crew Compartment, 3x Hunter Killer Missile
Sentinel Squadron 2: 180
3x Sentinel
3x Cadian Pattern, 3x Armoured Crew Compartment
I slimed it down to two squads of 3 sentinels each. One for Super Anti Heavy Tank, the other for light tank/heavy infantry. I will most likely be deep striking both of these.
This gives me entire army the ability to Deep Strike, and I have no tank which is what I was going for. Tell me what you all think.
