I don't see what dogs and cats have to do with Ultramarines. If you MUST bash on the (obviously superior) feline race, then at least have the decency to start a cat vs dog thread in which to do so.
Well, here is a thread just for you Judges, Enjoy!

Now, to get the ball rolling...

Dogs are just better than cats. After all there is a "space wolves" chapter. I don't see any "Space cats" or "space lions" chapter. And if there is then it obviously isn't as popular.

Hmm.... I like Dogs better but what about the lion helm and Lion El' Johnson?

You raise a good point, but rtsposer is an old Space Wolves player, so I'm not sure it will work. :)

(and I grew up with both, and dogs are much better than cats)

Yeah, but lion and lion helm are just names. first off, its the Daark Angels chapter, second their symbol rather than say a lion or a cat is a dark angel or feathers.

Think about it - Space Wolves and Dark Angels led by The Lion

Their millenia spanning rivalry is simply a glorified dogs vs cats rivalry

I like it!

I really Like it!

And the 'dogs of war' bit, i believe its a term based on the shakespear quote "Cry Havoc! And let slip the dogs of war"

Regardless, the quote is older then the game so i think if nothing else the origins can be traced there.

Oh god, shakespear and Warhammer in the same post...

The world really is coming to an end.

Um.. actually no. I don't think its macbeth or hamlet, It'd be one of the ones where they go to war (as if that really narrows it down).
