Now i looked on the boards and i didnt see anything on this topic, so forgive me if i missed it. I recently thought that it might be cool to use Drizzt Do'Urden in warhammer fantasy, for normal battles or any other things such as skirmish or specialised scenarios. here is my take on him. please leave any comments or tips on it(positive please! no bashing me). also post your own takes on drizzt below! thanks a lot!

Drizzt May be taken as a lord and hero choice in any empire, high elf, or wood elf army. He may be taken as a lord and special choice in any dwarf army. Drizzt may never be your general.

M WS BS S T W I A Ld
Drizzit 6 8 6 4 3 3 10 4 10

Points: 320 pts (very unsure about this)
Weapons: Twinkle, Icingdeath
Armor: Heavy Armor, Piwafwi

Special Rules
Hates Dark Elves, Scout

Dodge----- Drizzt is incredibly agile, even in elven terms. Therefore Drizzt has a 4+ Ward save that may never be negated, even by an item that would normally do so.

Rage----- Drizzt harbors a rage inside of him that may be unleashed in a powerful fashion. Once per game, While Drizzt is in combat, you may unleash his rage. Drizt gains +1 S and frenzy until the end of this round of combat.

Loner----- Drizzt works best while alone and on his own terms. As long as Drizzt is either alone or in a unit with Guenhwyvar he gets +1 to his combat resolutions.

Guenhwyvar----- Drizzt posseses a mighty magical artifact that when used summons a spectral panther from the Ethereal plane. Once per game, while not in combat, Drizzt may summon Guenhwyvar. He and Guenhwyvar form a skirmishing unit and must be placed 2" apart from each other.

Gear
Icingdeath----- Counts as a magical Weapon. Drizzt wounds on a 3+ (unless it would normally be better)

Twinkle----- Counts as a magical weapon. Drizzt gets +1 to his armor save. This may never be negated by superior S.

Piwafwi------ Units shooting at Drizzt get an additional -1 to hit.

Bracers of Speed------ Drizzt's Movement increases to 9. Enemies attacking Drizzit in Close Combat get -1 to hit him.

M WS BS S T W I A Ld
Guenhwyvar 8 5 0 5 4 4 6 3 10

Weapons: Claws and Teeth
Armor: 6+ Scaly Skin

Special Rules
Frenzy, Hates all Greenskins

Dodge----- 5+ Ward Save, may not be negated.

and there it is, again please leave any comments. hope you enjoy them! :)

D'oh. Interesting idea, but I reccommend changing the name at least slightly because I believe that its still under copyright. Although someone had to pay something to use them in the Baldur's Gate series.

I mean making someone pretty darn similar is ok. But not exactly. That sort of thing gets ya sued.

Not that we didn't throw Elric, Hawkmmon, Conan, and on one hopefully to be forgotten occaision freaking Batman on the gaming table after we came up with some rules for them.

Incidently, the results were: (From the various games)

Elric killed everyone else in the castle/dungeon/adventure including all the players (except Conan). (In a game of AD&D)

Conan killed a bunch of people and then left to drink and wench. (Same game.)

Hawkmoon ate autocannon fire. (In 2nd edition 40K)

Batman beat up all of our gangs. (Playing Necromunda)

Nice work on the special character though. I'm sure you could use him in friendly games with folks who've read the books. Or at least people that were willing to have their armies get shredded by him and whoever he is joining, because he is pretty nuts.

You might be better off making a 'renegade' dark elf of your own honestly.

However, if you converted a model to 'look' like Drizzit and such, you could use him in a standard list with standard gear. I'm sure that you could tool up a HE, WE or maybe even an Empire Lord to pretty pretty dangerous and have your 'Drizzit' army.

I think it would be funniest in a HE list where at the centre of your battleline would be one (or more if you decide to convert more folks from the books) that looked out of place.

Icingdeath should give immunity to fire and wounds deamons on a 2+ with the ability to deal a second wound that would wound on a 4+ and if it fails, Drizzt takes a wound. I'd also give him WS 10, take away the piwafwi, Twinkle would likely be +1 to hit and wound. Hmmm.... I have mixed feelings about him having Frenzy... Meh. It works.

Where did you get the Drizzt idea, anyways? The books or Baulder's Gate? I've never played the game, but I have read the books by RA. Salvator.

thanks all for the comments. i figured id get someone calling me a fanboy, but meh. i hardly expect it to to be the last. different strokes for different folks. as for where i got the idea, ive read every single book in the series and i played baldurs gate a bit, so a little bit of both, but mostly the books. by the way this entry is meant to be played with friends for a fun scenario, not a serious competitive unit. i dont know balancing too well, so what do you think of the point cost? the frenzy is supposed to represent when he goes into his rage ad loses control. any other recommendations?

p.s- if anyone uses him by any chance, tell me how it went. im not really expecting anyone to use him, but it would be cool to know how it went.

at least spell his name right i bet you pronounce it wrong as well dont you? lol (its drizzt not drizz-it only one sylable)

the rules are good and the points adequetly reflect this so good job there

however he should be WS 10,

he does not have a piwafi as this cloak disintergrates not long after coming to the surface re-read sojourn its happens before he meets montolio debouche and way before he gets icing death and twinkle.

icing death rule for demons would not apply as it only affects fire based things and warhammer deamons are not given elemental classes this however imunity to fire based magic would apply or at least magic resistance 2.

The bracers should also give him +1 iniative (which in WH terms takes into acount speed) or maybe a plus 1 to his armour save.

Drizzt does not wear heavy armour he wears mithril armour given to him by Bruenor. though in game terms would count as heavy armour.

i do realize that i spelled his name wrong. his real name is Drizzt, i know( pronounced drisst) and i went back and changed the spelling when i i remembered the copyright stuff. i did realize his piwafwi disintegrated too, i just thought he needed another magic item. i gave him the heavy armor to represent his chainmail, because i thought light armor was too weak for mithril. i used the bracers the way i did because his I is already 10 and i couldnt picture it doing anything else. any other comments are welcome.

IS't Mithrl like Gromril? So then a 4+ save would be most appropriate...

As for Icingdeath, it definitely needs immunity to fire. I guess its could also have +1 to wound or somthing, too, though.... You can't really represent its hate of fire very well in WHFB...

i think its about right actually. He's definetly well donre in the fact that his best defence is his speed
and as for copyright i wouldnt worry too much about it GW are hardly innocent of scraping the lines of copyright (tyrion and teclis for instance)
if its for personal use its fine.
