Eldar Balances Footslogging [200]
Hi this list has been through a lot of alterations!

Any critiquing will be much appreciated, but i will give my reasoning for my choices.

Here goes:

=== HQ ===

Avatar of Khaine 155
This guy is going to be at the forefront of my attack, He will be used to absorb he majority of fire, and although I’m not expecting him to get to their line, if he does he'll be devastating.

Eldrad 210
This guy will be with the Harlies benefiting from the Spiritseer Veil of tears, hell be casting fortune on the Avatar when advancing so he can absorb even more fire. Then when I get near to my opponent's line he'll attach himself onto a unit of Dire Avengers and cast Doom, Guide and with the Exarchs Blade Storm will cause a massive volley of 27 S4 AP5 shots re-rolling to hit and re-rolling to wound.

=== Troops ===

5 Pathfinders 120

5 Pathfinders 120
As the bulk of my army advances these guys will be sitting in cover sniping away, weakening the enemies’ defense for there impending doom.

Dire Avengers 165
Exarch w/ power weapon and Shimmersheild
Defend
Bladestorm

Dire Avengers 165
Exarch w/ power weapon and Shimmersheild
Defend
Bladestorm
These guys will really come into their own when they can unload there mags into the enemy. As I already mentioned earlier Eldrad will make a big difference to these guys destructive ablility. The Defend is in there to finish of with a decent assault after the shooting phase, and the power weapon and Shimmersheild is in there for the same reason, as well as the fact i have no power weapons in this list.

=== Elites ===

10 Striking Scorpions 199
Exarch w/ Scorpions claw
Shadowstrike
Stalker
These guys infiltrate near any long range fire power, broadsides, whirlwinds, hammerheads, and even snipers. Then after these guys have taken out what they target. The rest of my army can advance in relative safety.

10 Harliquins 292
8 Kisses
2 Fusion Pistols
Troupe Master
Death Jester
Shadowseer
It’s a footslogging list, so yes I have Harlies. The spiritseer is a must-must buy as the Harlies will be defenseless otherwise. The Troupe Master is there for his extra attack and leadership; the Death Jester because IMHO a 24" S6 AP5 Assault 3, Pinning weapon, and an awesome looking model is worth the 10 points.

3 Wraithguard 105
Warlock 49
Conceal
Spiritseer
Witchblade to singing spear
These guys were sort off a last minute addition to my army, I had about 150 points left to spend, and didn't want to get any more troops, couldn't get any more heavy support, and fast attackers didn't really fit into my army. So I had a choice between a small unit of footslogging fire dragons, or howling banshees. I f I was playing mechdar I would take the banshees because of the power weapons but because I cant zoom across in a Wave Serpent I thought that the Wraithguards would be the best option. I also through in a conceal warlock, for the added survivability.

=== Heavy Support ===

3 War Walkers 230
1 w/ bright lance and EML
1 w/ 2 bright lances
1 w/ 2 EML
I was going to go for a Nightspinner and a unit of Fire Dragons in a Wave Serpent but because this isn't mechdar, I thought that the anti tank capabilities and their abundance of shots, made the War Walkers the best option. I gave the unit a good mixture of weapons so they could handle most circumstances, but the main job of this unit is anti tank.

Wraithlord 155
2 flamers
EML
Bright Lance

Wraithlord 155
2 flamers
EML
Bright Lance
What can I say...?
...Two epic monstrous creatures that can take a beating and are awesome at long range shooting and even more devastating in combat.

Total 2000

There you go. Thank you all very much for reading and I hope you can give me an insight on what you think of this army.

Almost most of what you can get of a footdar. The walkers are a bit odd tbh. I understand the need of each different but it has a cost attached.

Wrong Troops, useless Scorpions (C'mon! Fleetless Eldar CC unit?!), 150 points in useless Wraitguard and terrible War Walker configuration.

Youre more wicked than I am telling him that this is close to most. :p

And besides, I'm still unsure whether regular Farseer wouldn't be better there.

Actually i do not agree. Scorpions are more usefull due to infiltration/outflanking than banshees when you play footdar. Rest (except for the walkers) are questionable but neither he has too many options. Eldrad is a must in such an army.

As for walkers is an odd combination. i would had chosen missiles and one shuriken cannon and call it a day.

There's a few things I would personally change here:

- I'd knock off the pathfinders and Wraithgaurd in order to place in a couple of Eldar Gaurdian squads (add anti tank if you want). Reason being you'll be able to attach a squad each to your Wraithlords so the Warlock prevents them from acting dumb for a turn. Other reason being those three don't offer much in firepower and this way your whole army joins the front together, more particularly be in range of Eldard.
- I would replace all weapons on the Warwalkers for either all Shuriken Cannons or Scatter Lasers and use their scout ability to waltz in halfway through the game from a table edge blazing. This means they're cheap, can contest anything nearby, can still damage vehicles on the side and you don't have to worry about them being downed before they can shoot.
- In this army my personal preference would have been another cheap Farseer for that extra bit of utility over the Avatar. Means you have more coverage on your psychic powers.

If your impliment these changes you could well have enough points to add another squad in.

Still, Harlies are even better. Better than crap is no good at all. Guardians are better there! Some bright lances, even overprices, hell!

Cannons are too short-ranged. As per scatter vs missiles... whatever, as long as they're not mixed.

Agreed on harlies. As for cannon it was one single cannon for wound allocation issues on the walkers (one different walker that will take penetrating hits until it will die)

I would honestly just drop the Wraithguard, Drop the Scorpions, and run this at 1750pts. Problem solved.

I'm not huge on Footslogging Eldar but I know that you need to be able to move. Sitting around your War Walkers (which I'm assuming is what you want to do with Eldrad because otherwise the Walkers are a waste) will get you eaten by many armies. Maybe switch the War Walkes to Scatter-lasers or Shuri Cannons and outflank/scout up. That saves you 50 or 110 pts respectively which is more than enough to get something useful.

Scorpions are not bad but I don't think you need 10. You yourself said they'd be going after campers, which means all you really need is a few tough troopers and a claw for the tanks. Drop these down to 6 and you've got another 64pts. With the Wraithguard out and Walkers given Shuri's that's 279pts saved (math?)

That's almost another Harlie squad!! Or a LOT of guardians which may die easy but (as said before) can babysit Wraithlords and have heavy weapons.

There's my take.

Thanks everyone for you responses. I have made a few alterations to my list:

I got rid of the walkers as I realized they couldn't split their fire between units, and eldrad would be no where near them; replacing them with a night spinner to weaken the enemies and to act as cover for the dire avengers. I got rid of the tiny unit of wraithguard as they seemed a waste of 150 points. And I shrank down the unit of striking scorpions to six. These changes made it possible to by another full unit of harlies, which meant that both units could act in unicen with the dire avengers to destroy most units.

Here is the list again for any one who wants to see:

=== HQ ===*

Avatar of Khaine 155

I think that this is 1992 points but I'm typing this on my iPhone with no codex so my math isn't perfect! :) thanks again;

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm pretty sure the 6 striking scorpions are actually a total of 148 points, not 135.
Even then, your numbers add up to 2114. So I think this needs to be tweaked a little.
