I was wondering if anyone could give me a summary of the rules for the Elysian Drop troop army, without breaching the rules set down by the forum. Like, what doctorines, what troops are allowed, and such.
There is a new list in IA vol 3, and i think it jives with 4th ed. Makes every unit deep strikeable (is that a word?), unless mounded in a valkarye. Only vehicles are valkaryes, vultures and sentinels. But they do have drop sentinels with either heavy bolter or multimelta options.
Very cool army, but also very expensive unless you go for all troops.
if you take grenadiers doctrine you don't have to take storm troopers doctrine according to GW. said if you can take storm trooper s as troops than you can automatically start filling eleite slots with them two. last i heard, anyway.
Blimey, the spelling & grammar in this thread are both very... unusual...
That said, I own a FW Elysian Drop Troops army, and use the list found in Imperial Armour 3.
They have the following doctrines:
Special Weapons Squads
If you want to use the Elysian-specific rules (Like being able to take demolitions charges in infantry squads, or deep-strike Tarantula Sentry Turrets), then you have to use those doctrines.
As said above, Elysians do not get tanks, but they do get specialist Sentinels which can be armed with Heavy Bolters, Multi-Meltas or Frag/Krak Missile launchers. They also get Cyclops demolitions vehicles & of course Vulture & Valkyrie support planes.
If you've any other questions which don't require posting full stats & points costs, feel free to ask.
