Do you get to make a Feels No Pain check after failing a save from Gets Hot?

From the way the rules are written it seems to me that you are able to, but someone told me that when you get hit by Gets Hot you actually take a hit from the weapon profile itself, which would mean things like plasma guns wouldn't allow a Feels No Pain check.

Thanks

gest hot, automatically wounds you with no S or AP attached to it and it doesn't ignore armours. because you may take an armour save from the weapon overheating. so it doesn't ignore FNP. hope that helps!
thanks

Let's hold up there a second - FNP cannot be taken against wounds from AP2 weapons. If a plasma weapon Gets Hot and the save is failed, sorry Mr Marine but you don't get any FNP. The "wound" from the Gets Hot! rule has been caused by an AP2 weapon. The FNP rule on P.75 BRB says that wounds from such weapons cannot use FNP. It doesn't specify that the weapon actually has to *shoot* at you, it just says that if the weapon has such-and-such AP value then you don't get to use FNP.

Get's Hot does not have a Strength or AP value. It is simply "....suffers a wound (normal saves apply)..."

As there is no Strength characteristic and there is nothing denying armor saves, FNP does indeed apply.

Ah - so the AP2 weapon actually has to be fired at the model with FNP in order to negate the ability to use FNP? Right, got it. Thanks.
