first mech game in 1 week

I have my first mech game in 1 week, im think about taking

12fw with DF decoy

8 pathfinders, 3 with railrifle, DF, decoy

Hammerhead - ioncannon, burst cannons, decoys, multi
Hammerhead - railgun, smart missiles, decoys, multi, target lock
3 broadsides, target lock, Shas'vre drone conroller 1 shield

3 crisis plasma rifle, missle pod multi

aun, or crisis with bodygaurd

That is what im thinking about. The game is with some friends and there will most likely be teams. I will be playing assault BT (maybe orks instead), 2 nid players, and DH (maybe imp gaurd instead), and MAYBE a noob chaos player.

my biggest fear is that the DH and BT always use drop pods, what iwll I do? hope I get on their team?

First off ***** slap the DH player as he can't use Drop Pods :)
I don't understand why that bothers you so much though...as you're playing a mech list you can easily move away from any troops he drops. Sure, they'll pump some lead into you (a lot in the GK case), but it's a lot better than getting stuck in cc.

I think your list looks pretty good, though I'm not too sure about the pathfinders (never actually seen 'em used). I'd drop them for another Firewarrior squad. Maybe a second hq.

As for crisis suit weapons....I'd drop them to two and turn them into a deepstriking fusion squad (as you seem short on anti tank), and then get the HQ a small bodyguard and deck them all out with plasma guns.
i forgot to mention that the most number of tanks ive played wen the DH and BT ppl were on a team was 3, and they all died on turns 1, 2, and 3 because of my railhead. I need anti termie stuff. its most likely 2000pts.

the pathfinders are extremely good for me

Don't use rail rifles. Get 2 seekers if you're using pathfinders. Only take pathfinders in units of 6.

IMO I would take the Railrifles (AP 3 = pwnage) but onlainari is a tabletop veteran so listen to him.
k, i thought of the rifles for anti marine stuffs, but seekers are jsut as good...

any suggestions? that brings it up to 1800 points i think (guessing) what should I add/take away? and is plasma rifle, missle pod target lock a fireknife config?

Nope. Give each of your Broadsides a target lock (10pts I think) that give your Shas'vre/team leader a hardwires drone controller (2pts) and a shield drone (15pts).

If you are going to take seeker missiles, I'd put them on the DFs instead of the HH, because the HH is already going to be a priority target for your opponent's armour killers. And I'd drop the rail rifles from the PF squad so you'll better your chances of getting the markerlight hits you'll need to actually use those missiles when you need them.

What should I add as my last 200 or so points? more FW? or kroot?

I would add some upgrades-Shas'uis for FW/pathfinders and multitrackers for the Devilfishes so you can use the burst cannons without losing your defences. That's about 60 points. Add a static FW squad with a markerlight (they aren't going to move much) and that will probably do it. Lose the light if you are over on points.

Umm...I think you want the multitracker on those crisis suits, not the target lock. Also, spread out the seekers among the 'Fishes so a lucky shot won't take all of them out.

outcome of battle: I owned the nids. The first thing I did was FoF his gaunts. They died pretty fast. Then I railed his hive tyrant every turn until it was dead. My BT ally owned the other Nid player. Things I learned: do not let stealth suits hide in forest that Lictors are also hiding in. ONLY use submunitions on small things. FoF is your biggest friend.
