Guard sarge and inquisitor

635 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Sir Theobold the Lame
Just been painting up a sargeant for my Kaskrins and converted an old terminator into an inquisitor (neither are finished)

The guard sarge is for my British empire style guard

apologies for the crappy pics :( the inquisitor is a lot better in the flesh!

hehehe...sweet paintings the golden grand-master is cool and i love the Karksin he is nice with his berey on...Cant wait to see more! :).
The claws on the terminator looks a little messy painted.
Karksin has a brown pistol... argh.. is it made out of wood or what? =P Don't like the color. Except that. Very nice models.

yes i agree the claws arent great- they arent finished- need some blending of colours

He has a brown pistol because all of my guard have wooden stocks on their weapons!
It is really hard to comment on the painting due to the fuzziness of the pictures.

Overall I like the coloration your are using for the inquisitor. Should work well. I am not so keen on the cloth. It doesn't look very natural. I think this is because it doesn't have enough folds in it and they don't seem to be flowing naturally. Not too much of a big deal especially if you are going for more of a stylized look.

I agree with one of the other comments about the brown not really working for the weapon casing on the IG. Not so much that it resembles wood but that it stands apart too much from the rest of the colors.

If you have a digital camera - try to get it into a macro mode (usually depicted by an icon of a flower) and that will help bring your miniatures more in focus. Please post pictures when you are finished as I think you are going in a good direction.

Cheers,

-Mike

cheers for the comments- the brown definatly needs more work, i was in two minds about painting his pistol like that, but it is to tie in with the rest of the unit, i will try a few things out to achieve more of a 'natural' look and see what happens.
The inquisitors cloak kind of messed up in its GS stage, particularly round his neck (terminators have such strange shaped necks!)and the picture doesnt really do justice for the cloth between his legs which im pretty pleased with.
Ive got a digi cam so i will try and get some better pics up asap.

Thanks everybody! more comments please!
