Probably the best advice I can give is the immortal words, "don't panic". If you're afraid of his knights you'll over estimate the danger they represent and could end up causing big problems for yourself. For a start, set up your bolt thrower on the other side of the table from them - if you can hit them in the flank once or twice they're nothing but victory points. If you can, use your shadow warriors to march block them as well, then even your infantry will be able to outmanouvre them.

Against such heavy armour the bolt thrower will come in very handy, I'd suggest you give your mage seer, jewel of the dusk, curse of arrow attraction and fury of khaine if you have the points. Curse of arrow attraction coupled with the bolt thrower could take down a couple of knights before your opponent realises you're planning to shoot at them (hint - put the bolt thrower on the table facing another target unit, you'd be amazed how many people fall for this). If not, it'll mow down a good few warriors. I can't really give you much more detailed advice without knowing your opponent and his list.

It sounds like it'll be a tough game, but you'll stand a chance if you can slow down his advance and get a few flank charges in. Good luck.

thanks dude (Y)

ill keep saying to myself... 'do not fear the knights... do not fear the knights...' lol... im planning on making a few knight kebabs :shifty:
Those knights are gonna give you problems. You gotta smoke 'em with bolt throwers and magic before they get to your spears...cuz there is nothing in your army that can beat them in hand to hand.

Use your shadow warriors to marchblock his infantry...Him moving 4 inches a turn should give you enough time to isolate his cavalry and chariots with magic and shooting and destroy them.

Keep your knights close to your infantry...hope the spears hold up a charge from the warriors and then flank with the knights.

good luck..

once you play this game, id like to request some kind of report!

short answer no i beleive unless ya get magor league lucky or he screws up bad ur gonna get steamrolled

if ya had different models i would say drop dem archer boyz as they are gunna do squat to the heavily armoured t4 chaos boys and knights, same with shadow warriors fire these units into marauders cus they are the only ones that are gunna get hurt by these guys.

with only one boltthrower and mage ur gonna struggle against his guys but as ya don't have any more ... then i suppose ya jus have to try ur best and try to take it on the chin.

the spearmen and silverhelms will need toi work in tandum here and it will either make or break you, charge (you must charge) his boys and try to hold out until next turn when ya can swing the silver helms into im.

good luck and above all have fun cus i know he will.
If you and your opponent don't mind tooling a army for the battle at hand then a 900 point chaos army is the easiest thing to beat with HE. At 900 point he won't be taking any Deamon that cause Terror. He's what my list would look like:

Characters:
Lvl 2 mage - steed - seer - channeller - silver wand - pure of heart - 192 points

Lvl 2 mage - steed - ring of fury - jewel of the dusk - 187 points

Core:
5 Silver helms - heavy armor - shield - 115 points

5 Silver helms - heavy armor - shield - 115 points

Special:
5 Dragon princes - Standard bearer - banner of sorcery - 198 points

5 Ellyrian reavers - 90 points

Total 897 points
5 DD
7+D3 power dice

Sounds like an uncoventional army but it will be great against chaos. The only thing you need to fear is flurries. Flying skirmishers. Being chaos he won't have any ranged attacks and he'll be fast. So your task is to be fasted and stay out of combat. Your elven steeds are much faster and you need to stay out of combat. Unless you can get a rear of flank with the silver helms or dragon princes. Your mages will have enough killing power to win you the game and on steeds they can outrun your opponent. You will probably want to use heavens with the seer mages and take second sign - thunderbolt (for knights) - comet (for stuff with magic resistance, since the spell targets a spot on the table and not a unit it doesn't allow him to use his magic resistance).

Unless you misscast very badly or move stupidly you should win easily.

However I have to say I don't like tooling a army to the army I'm playing. I would rather have a force that would work well against everything.
