High Elf 500 Point List

Hey everyone,

This is my first attempt at a High Elf army list. Just looking for some suggestions with this one if anyone could give any if it is needed. Thanks.

Commander
Reaver Bow
Pure of Heart
Heavy Armor
Shield
Elven Stead
Barding

10 Archers
Light Armor

10 Spearmen
Standard Bearer

5 Silver Helms
Shields
Heavy Armor

This comes out to exactly 500 Points. The primary opponents I would be playing would be Dark Elves, Bretonnians, Orcs and Goblins, Empire, Wood Elves. However, the most common one, and the one this list is aimed at defeating is Dark Elves. Please give feedback. Thanks.

im pretty sure that a border patrol list has a maximum of 1 character with a points value of 140max and only can take 1 item from the army.stick with 1 unit of SHelms with a 2+ save and the 10 archers but the spearmaen with no command would be an easy target. If they do get in combat they will be squished as they should really have a 5 wide frontage and cant fight in three ranks in this case due to lack of models.Possibly take a bolt thrower with the extra points as your 1 special/rare coice
We are not using Border Patrol rules. We are using normal rules. Sorry to not clarify.
Thats fair enough,Ill correct what I said last night then now.First of all that commander is an amazing combination of items IMO.IT means an amazing 2+save on him as well which will be really handy.I personally would ditch the spearmen still, for the same reasons as last time.If you are mainly playing dark elves I would take 2 eagles or a bolt thrower with the extra points. The solid shot will be pretty useless though on the bolt thrower unless you fire at a charachter, which you could kill in 1 shot if you rolled 3 wounds and hit and wounded with all three.(not too hard at strenght 6).The multishot would be pretty usefull too on normal troops. The eagles are a good choice if you end up fighting a dark elf army with a bolt thrower or a chariot, only problem is fear on the chariot.hope this helps,

drop the lightarmour on archers if not jus drop them completely,

full comand on spearmen is important and if ya lose the archers then add some bolthrowers as they will do more damage and outlast the archers

It appears you are confused with the BT rules. Using the single penetrating shot you roll to wound as normal, if it wounds then you roll a D3 to see how many wounds you score. These are not rolled, they are already caused the first wounding hit does the wounding this tell you just how many it has done. Only useful against monsters and characters stupid enough to stray away from a unit, but the high strength shot is great against units - usually gaining a kill or two.

Sorry about that.My mistake,i was in a rush to get the post finished typed before I had to leave for school.I havnt got a very good memory so it wasnt like I could have typed it again after school.the reason a bolt thrower also wouldnt be all that useful in a 500 point match, is that big blocks of infantry arent something likely to be fielded in such a small game, unless playing skaven or other horde armies, but the main army being faced is to be Dark elves, so 2 eagles IMO would be much more usefull against this type of army.
