well, it would depend on the look you are trying to acheive, and how much time you are willing to put into it.

lining the pannels with a highlight will take more time, and give you practice at lining. Its you can get as complicated as two or three gradual shade increases to get a good effect.

a simple drybrush will be much quicker but will give that overall "dusty" or "chalky" look to it.

Thanks for the replies folks.

Just been working on them today. I decided to apply a black ink wash and immediately had an oh shit moment but then I applied dark grey as a dry brush and it's come up alright.
