Hive Tyrant Synapse

In the codex it reads "....All Tyrants are Highly Psychic, and their relationship is to the Hive Mind closer than even that of Tyranid Warriors."

With that said shouldn't the Hive Tyrant have a Larger Synapse Range than the Warriors, maybe 15 or 18 inches.:yes:

I think the close relationship with the hive mind is represented by the fact that the Tyrant can have several powers.

Being 'Highly Psychic' doesn't necessarily mean a heightening of range or capability of a power. The sheer number of Psychic Powers avaliable to the Hive Tyrant, even a basic Hive Tyrant, is example enough of their Psychic strength.

To compare...

Warriors get one psychic power for free, and can't take any others.

Zoanthropes are stronger Psychers than Warriors, they get one psychic power "free" and may choose two more for additional cost.

Hive Tyrants are very strong Psychers, they get two Psychic Powers for free, and may chose another for additional cost.

Sounds about right to me.

Yeah that makes sense, a bigger synapse range would be nice though.

It's not really needed. A bigger bubble would be a bit unbalanced, and 12" is enough to cover a large portion of the board, especially since you only need one model from a unit in synapse range.

If you're having trouble keeping Synapse coverage, consider cheap flying Warriors or Zoanthropes with Synapse to plug gaps in your line.

No its not that, i don't even use my tyrant that often i use a Brood of 5 Warriors and a BLood Lord, most of the time, maybe i should use my tyratn more.........

For their points the Tyrant is easily the best tyranid HQ. Broodlords are still awesome and serve a purpose and warriors are great for little games but overall a Tyrant is something you have trouble going wrong with.

If you have a proper synapse web, the 12" shouldn't bother you.
