Hi, I've been playing space marines for a little while, and I've seen several people put jump packs on command squads and honour guards, however, it does not say that you can in the 5th edition codex. Is it legal to do so?
The elite jump pack unit in Codex: Space Marines is the "vanguard". They are a fast attack option. You can use them as a jump pack command squad substitute. (Or you can put a command squad on bikes.)
Codex: Blood Angels has a unit named "honor guard" that is (or can be) equipped with jump packs.
And in the 4th edition Codex: Space Marines, captain Shrike had the option of purchasing a wing of his veterans as a "command squad" that carried jump packs.
Just to make sure to clarify a bit; command squads and Honour Guard squads from the 5th edition Space Marines codex may not take jump packs. Everything Red Archer said is correct as well!
