thanks, anyone know a way using green stuff (i'm not so god with it...) or plasticard stuff?

also... on the cover of False gods the legion is obviously Luna Wolves, and they all have the same helmet style, but in the other legions there seem to be variations.
Is this just something with the artist, or did the Wolves really not use beaks and stuff and did some of them not wear helmets???

The beakie helmets (and all mark 6 armour in general) was not around until the end of the heresy. Mark 4 and 5 armour was most common, mark 4 [helmets] being like shortened beakies and mark 5 [helmets] being closer to mark 7 [helmets].
Not wearing helmets is just cool.

so like, only importent people like sergeants would have beakies?
and also, anyone got some picture or good tutorial on how to make those helmets?
ALSO... what is the easiest FREE way to make studs for armor and such... is it just rolling GS and then cuting?

For most of the war there were no beakies, although by the end they were standard kit so most marines had them.
Some people will use drops of PVA glue to simulate studs, dot them on with a coctail stick or such and they aught to be pretty easy. Remember that the shoulder pads should not have rims around them.

thanks and one more question... the Luna Wolves home was really close to earth, so did they have more advanced armor? more beakies and such

also, in pictures of the other legions, they have a variety of armor, while the wolves seem to have all the same helmet... could it be that when something new came out, they got it first and in large supplies

No Mk. VI (beakies) armour untill after the heresy. So a while after the Luna Woles became the Sons of Horus/Black legion

Don't take a single piece of artwork as gospel. The False Gods cover is good for inspiration, but by no means is it saying "The luna wolves wore THIS and nothing else"

thanks and like you said that the covers aren't fact, there are many pictures of members of traitor legions wearing beakies... sure about it???

horus was favored by so many that i could see him having special stuff... the mechanicum was on his side so they could have given him stuff and not given it to other legions.

By the start of the heresy MK4 was the standard but due to problems of manufacture and upkeep the MK5 was introduced. MK6 armour was developed during the heresy and was standard kit for both sides by the end.

Dude, you seem set on putting some beaky helms in your Luna Wolf force. At the risk of sounding rude, I'm gonna say that there were NO beaky helms around when the Sons Of Horus (aka the Black Legion) were known as the Luna Wolves.
