Nope. The closest I've come is knowing a couple of guys on various sites who work for them.

I think it would be pretty cool to work for them actually.

It would be cool if I worked in a really quiet store, where all you do all day is paint and play. 8Y

But then again you might have to work weekends which means you have to deal with loads of crazy kids throwing tantrums.

Would still be pretty sweet though.

And deal with high pressure to make sales while getting paid almost nothing. While I never worked for GW, I know people who have, one of whom said he worked for GW until his wife told him she was pregnant - at which point he decided he actually needed to make some money.

Going by what the GW managers get paid which was no where near what I used to get paid for basically sitting on my arse and occassionally putting bags of screws in a box and making a cup of tea every ten minutes the staff must be on minimum wage or near to. True you get to paint and play games but I can't imagine you can support a family without tax credits.

Well this is the job I want.
http://uk.games-workshop.com/careers/availablejobs

I told Anna (my girlfriend) about the job I wanted.
She knows how much I would love too work for Games Workshop.
She said if that’s what I would like to do then I should do it.
But she won’t move if I get the job so that means we would
be separated for most of the week. Plus it doesn’t say what the
salary is on the job description.
I’m really torn. I have my C.V and a really good cover letter
all on a email addressed and ready to go, all I have to do is press
send and I could be in with a chance to work at Forge world.
But it means moving away from my friends, my girlfriend, my dope
dealer, and a town I loath but love at the same time. And to make it
harder I have until tomorrow to get my C.V sent in!!!!!!!

long, long ago, i worked for GW. It was the worst six months of my life! having a full time job and working there part time, wasn't worth the 60% discount that everyone got! not kidding about that either.

I don't, I would, but only if it was a store mgmt. position.

I love the hobby, I would love the discount. Unfortunately, I see how much the redshirts get paid, and what they have to put up with and I dont envy them.

Personally, id rather own my own gaming store. But that will never happen.

You really don't want a store manager job :pthe wage is terrible, it only looks ok next to the even worse wage they pay the normal staff. But for your extra £200 - tax a month you get to manage a store as well as do the job of a normal staff member as well :0

The ONLY reason to take a GW manager job is as a step towards something regional or higher, or because you enjoy nothing more than gaming with kids :0:0:0
