How to make a NL raptor lord

Hi,

I've been following WH40k for about 6-8 months now (I found out about it with DOW) and am now of a mind to sart a NL army. I want to make the lord a raptor so that he can have non demonic D.flight and join my raptor squads. My question is would a NL hero helm and sholder pad fit on a normal raptor model?

Thanks for any help on this or for ideas on other options.

hmm.. i dont see why the head wouldn't (heads are usually pretty switchable in my experience)

the shoulder pad i'm not sure on...

worst case scenario you'd have to chop it all up and use green stuff to fill in the gaps...
if anything, you will have to shave some material off the inside of the shoulder pad(the part you glue it to).
Fantastic, thanks for the help

Im thinking about trying NL heads on all my raptors, problem is I'm not sure how that would look because normal raptor heads are so different, I'd like to have an ieda of what the end result would be before I dish out the cash on helms and S.pads. Can anyone shed some light on that?

Thanks,
Ostiem

I can tell you right now, swapping 1 sholder pad is going to be easy.

In order to do both, and the head, your going to need to do some serious cutting.

as you can see here, the head and 1 arm are firmly attached to the model.

I'm sure it can be done, it's just going to require a significant ammount of work.

other then that, you might want to look into the older raptor models, as they look pretty night lordy already.

Well that throws a monkey wrench in it for sure, even more so because I wanted to give him the
NL power wepon (http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=9947010208110&orignav=10) but the raptor CC wepon is on the body to. I think I might be able to do it, but before I do I want to go see a raptor in person to see what it would take.

Thanks for all the help guys it was more than I'd hoped for and I'll be sure to post pics if/when I get it done

Hey If you can get hold of some old raptors. They would be very good models. For the lord you can use a model with a power sword, and the pack comes with an night lords head. Dont worry about the shoulder pads, once you have the nl pads you can just glue it on. I will have a pic of my lord up in a week or earlier. Hope it helps.
I would just use that raptor champion with twin lightning claws and GS some cloaks on him...
ya, gs cloaks and hoods over their heads, just remember to leave eye holes, and maybe nose holes.
The shoulder pads wouldnt be a problem, however, the head would. I have found that the Raptor models are more porportional to a real human than normal Marines. I think the head would be too big, but you could try. I too made a Lord out of a Raptor, I took the Aspiring Champion and gave him a cape, and tadah! a Chaos Lord :)
