This is my current HQ choice that I kept using for a while, had some amazing progress but sometimes they overdid their job up to 3 times over and so I keep hearing that its too expensive for a 1500 point army so I would appreciate some suggestions on how to cut on some points. 472 points as of right now

ShadowLord – Agoniser, Combat Drugs, Splinter Pistol, Shadow Field, Trophy Rack, Hell Mask

Drazhar

6 Incubi

2 Warrior - 2 Splinter Cannon

Raider (55)

Drop 2 incubi? Or drop Drazhar, either either.

I also like overdoing the HQ, smashing 1 squad and consolidating into another and smashing that squad etc etc.

And when a group of 3 eldar war walkers open fire on you and kill 200+ points in one round of shooting, forcing you to take (and fail) a leadership test. Any time you can loose 1/3 of your army, when one unit fails it's moral check, you've probably spent too many points on that unit.

I agree that you probably should drop drazhar or a couple incubi or even both. Also the hell mask and trophy rack aren't necessities, if you want to drop a few more points. The only thing I would think about adding, just out of preference, is a horrorfex for your raider.

At 1500 I would have 5 incubi total. With your list I would then drop the warriors and Drahzar. I think this unit could take a marine squad of 9 easy - if what you call a "Shadow Lord" is an Archon but even a Dracon will leave 1 or 2 behind so your boys wont be left in the open next round.

You move the raider and get out, shoot with the warriors splinter cannons then assault with the whole squad.

True but if I assault in CC do my warriors have to assault in CC or can I still shoot?
As Tenozuma wrote. You still shoot then go into CC with everyone including the warriors. If your enemy is too far away for the 6" assualt then you will have to Fleet of Foot instead of shooting thus your warriors with the splinter cannons will not be able to shoot.

That is why I say drop the warriors, you HAVE to get into assault range - if you dont Fleet of Foot just to shoot your cannons then you are open to be fired upon in the open. If you are within assault range then its all good, move, shoot then assault. Once in assault, however, your warriors become meat shields, the first to go.

Worth it? Its for you to decide.

You cant fleet of foot with incubi, so if you have incubi, it doesn't slow you down any to have a couple warriors with splinter cannons. The only thing you have to worry about is your opponent removing models that are close enough to assault from the casualties you cause from your splinter cannons, so you are thus now out of range.

Why does everyone say that a horrorfex is a neccesity for a Raider, it has no strength, therefore it is ignored when calculating 2 Armament destroyed=immobilised(BOOM!). I'd drop Drazhar, up to 1750pts I find a Dracon is effective enough.

Probably because pinning == good. It's also dirt cheap. . .

That sounds about right, however in the posts people say it adds extra toughness, making them harder to destroy, I also read that by this people mean its another Armament Destroyed result without crashing. However as it isn't higher than strength 4 it can be ignored, if I read the BGB right.
