... then I forgot this page even existed for almost ten years. From 2003 to 2006 I spent hours here every day in between assembling and painting models.

I was just googling a question about Warhammer Total War, and strangely, it sent me to this site... apparently someone many years ago asked whether to use a Doombull or a Beastlord in their WHFB army, and that result was the top result in Google.

Honestly, this place back in the early days is far far better than Reddit ever has been. Miss this place, wish it were still alive.

I hear you man. Last year I got back into the hobby after a decade and a half and thought I'd check on the old haunt. Place seems to have died years ago and is mostly populated with spam bots now.

It even forgot my original join date of 1964 or whatever it was at the time.

LO has a special place in my heart for old CSM discussion.

Members like Caluin, Sir Rabbit, and Karmoon are well remembered. Excellent quality users back in the day, compared to the contemporary forums of Warseer & DakkaDakka. Only the old Advanced Tau Tactica forum had a comparable community spirit.

I should add, to OP’s point, that LO has some of the best results on google searches when it comes to older stuff. If the life hack of today is appending “reddit” to your google searches when looking to filter out the gunk of the modern internet, then appending LO is a way to find great older discussion.
