Hi im a Space Marine Player and im gonna get some grey knight termies and an inquisitor for allies, iwas wondering if i could have inquisitor coteaz as an allie, sorry if this is a stupid question, I was also wondering if i could take inquisitorial stormtroopers as an allie

I beleive that special characters can only be played in the army for which they are made. Which for coteaz is the DH

No, you cannot. Special characters may only be used in their core army, never as allies.

But you can take an Inquisitor Lord and give him weapons and gear that are just as (if not more) effective than Coteaz. Remember, though, that you can only take 0-1 HQ slots from an ally, so if you want an Inquisitor Lord, your GK Terminators must be an Elite choice, meaning you cannot use a GK Grand Master.
