Is Blood Angels good Choice?

Hey guys. I'm starting Blood Angels (I can always switch if you think it a good idea) and I'm new to 40k. I have one fantasy army and it was my first army ever. Since it was my first, I don't win very often. Frankly, I'm not a sore loser, but it gets a little broing losing time after time. I was wondering if you could help me out and tell me why a Blood Angels army is good, if good at all and help me win a few games. Also, maybe post a list in this section. If not look for my post in Space Marine Army Lists called Friendly 2000p Blood Angels, Good Choice?

Please help me out here.

I really think that all space marines are to be played similarly. Of course you would tend to assault a bit more with blood angels than say dark angles, but basicly they are the same.
If you play space marines you will almost always be outnumbered. Make sure that you do not let the enemys numbers to bear, and engage him bit by bit with "local firepower supremacy" as it is called in the army.
Basicly any army you choose, space marine or otherwise will allow you to win if you play to its strengts. This said: Of course you should go for the blood angels, who can resist their wicked nice red armour?!
Good luck.
im not a huge fan of the blood angels. (in other words i despise them)

they are a fairly common army in alot of games workshops and tend to become a boring choice.

when doing a space marine army i recommend something that is hardly ever seen, or perhaps your own chapter.
are you simply advertising to get your list reviewed or asking if BA are a good choice?

if the latter then yes, as people said they are quite a common army, but that should not stop you using them, they rather got some of their teeth pulled with 4th ed killing the rhino rush stratergy, but they can still dish it aout and be played in a number of ways, some of which are very challenging
I respect the Blood Angels abilities. They have some nice extra stuff that makes them stand out from the ordinary ones.
As said you will have a better assault-ability then many others and some really wicked tanks. The Baal Predator is awsome and those Rhinos can really go fast.

What I would like you to do, as an army is quite a financial commitment, is to get a good core of models and then try the different chapters out. Play before painting and keep the characters very basic.
Then when you get the idea of whatever chapter you prefer, paint and focus.
I like the Blood Angels. They have cool fluff. They get the Death Company. They get their own Dreadnaught variant. But the thing I envy the most is their Baal predator. I've seen it used to great effect in many games. I read so many posts about how common they are, but we only have 1 BA player at my local shop. I see more DIY marines than anything else, but we also have 1 SW player, 1 BT player, 1 GK player, and 1 UM player.
It really depends, as others have stated.
If you like BA and don't mind having a fairly common army, then by all means go ahead!
But, if you want a unique army, then I would suggest a created chapter or a SM army that is not played too often.

I play Black Templars myself, but Blood Angels are nice. Many haters out there will tell you they don't like Marines or than such and such a chapter is cheesy or overpowered, but stick with it if you like the Blood Angels! Remember that they are geared as an assault army, so if you like to sit and shoot they probably aren't the chapter for you. The Baal Predators are very nice and can lay down a hail of shots (4 TL Assault cannon + 6 HB = dead enemies) and are immune from the Blood Rage.

I would also recommend playing a few small games with codex marines just to get the basics of 40k down. Good luck and good hunting!
I used to play Blood Angels. I like the fluff, and they have some very cool units, but I decided to go DIY because I got frustrated with my heavy support wanting to use the missile launchers as a blunt instrument. I like to have more options than 'run up and tear them a new one'. that being said, if you like close combaty sort of armies, they will be good for you.
