I make it a -2 armour save in close combat, at best. -3 against shooting

are you shure?
cuz blood armour at max effect 1+, coldone (+2), seadragon cloak (+1/+2), enchanted shield (+2) will be -4/-5Sv... unless there is a cap at -2?

There is no cap, but the armour can only improve twice, (unless there is a regeneration item I am missing).
This means:
3+ for the armour
1+ with the enchanted shield
-1 with the cold one
-2/-3 with the sea dragon cloak

ah acctually we are all wrong... I took a look on the dark elf uptade and it says there that the armour keeps improve until the total save is 1+.
So it's kinda pointless giving someone mounted on a cold one that combo... cause it'll work fine with a normal heavy armour and the combo above you'll get 0+Sv and with blood armour you'll be stuck on 1+.
